Here\'s my dilemna

I am in a quandry regarding RT vs GTS. Right now I have a 1996 RT, but I have been eyeballing a 1996 GTS.

My RT..... 38,000 miles, third owner, 2001 18" OEM wheels, the original wheels, Northwind Hardtop and windows..... complete Arrow rebuild 3,000 miles ago, Corsa 3" exhaust, no cats.

His GTS... 32,000 miles, I would be second or third owner, original wheels, he thinks it has Corsa 3" exhaust.

He wants to take my RT as a trade..... my RT plus $5,000 cash? I just cannot decide if that is a fair trade.... so I am looking to you all for some thoughts.

Yes... I get the Gen II engine, and roll up windows...... the airbags are not a draw for me (I don't like them)..... but I really like the Blue/White GTS.... and the roll up windows would be a convenience?

So what do you all think...... fair trade at my RT plus $5,000 cash? I am thinking that my fully Arrow rebuilt engine with only 3,000 miles is worth the same or maybe SLIGHTLY less than a 32,000 mile no warranty available GTS?

Am I thinking crazy?

..... Just make sure that the car does not leak and you should be fine.

What do you mean by "leak".... are you referring to the engine leaking oil or coolant... or the windows/doors leaking water to the interior?

Doesn't the Arrow rebuild 3,000 miles ago increase my value even though I have 6,000 more miles??

And just to be clear he wants my RT and $5,000 from me for his GTS.

What if I just buy his GTS (he is asking high $30s for it) and sell my RT myself? What is a realistic selling price for my RT?

I think you should buy the GTS and then list the RT at $100K and see if it sells.
