help with my cats!!!

1046 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Confrontational
If I take my cats off my 99 GTS, do I need to buy the sim eliminators for the check engine light to make the car run right or will it be fine without?

And secondly, when taking off the side sills, are there just those 4 bolts and the rivets?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Will the car stink really bad when I do?

"Don't get rid of me-ow!"

You will need sims, but bear in mind that high flow cats only lose you one measley rwHP and sound real loud when you get on it. Your car will stink without the cats, but probably not real bad unless you're behind it.
What exactly is it that makes it stink when you take out the cats? I've heard this a lot, but I have never seen answer to why it makes a smell though (from what I remember).

unburned & partially burned gasoline = stink
Thanks Kenny! :thumb:
Lawnman - 6 screws on the top (there are two that you have to pop the hood for) - and then 4 on the bottom...

Yes, you'll need the sim cards (about $200) so that the check engine light does not light...
