I NEED more horsepower! I was interested in the Heffner 1000 SCI package but now I've heard about the waiting release of his 1100 TTI package. When is this suppose to debut!? /images/graemlins/headbang.gif

I would like to send him the car within a month or two but don't know when this kit is gonna be released. If anyone has any info.....what is the price difference going to be from the 1000 SCI package (gotta make sure i set enough aside for my christmas present)? :thumb:

Does this TT have anything to do with Hennessy? John has the knowledge with the TT, the times (et) and the top speeds. Either way it will be something to watch.
Here in Houston they are opening a new 1/8th mile track, are the TT's good in the 1/8th. I know that in the 1/4 there is enough distance but not sure about the 1/8th.

jkracer, John definitely has the knowledge with the TT, But Jason Heffner is the only one so far that has gotten into the nines on boost only. I believe Jason made slightly more RWHP with a blower than JPH made with a pair of turbos. I am sure Jason will do his characteristic making more power with less boost than anybody else's similar kits. I am excited to see the Heffner Twin Turbo kit in person. I have heard so much about it and I am sure it will make all the power like usual! I was not aware John had any top speed records with the Turbo cars. I hope to go to the standing mile competition in December that John is hosting. This coming year sure will be fun to say the least!

Hi Paolo,

We feel that Heffner's choice to go turbo just further validates what we have also beleived for a long time. That being turbos will make the most power and go the fastest, period. For now, our twin turbos without nos hold the records for:

1/4 mile ET no NOS: 9.66 sec. (with auto)
1/4 mile mph no NOS: 146 mph (6-speed)
RW HP no NOS: 907 rw hp sae
RW TQ no NOS: 1030 rw tq sae
SRT Power no NOS: 735 rw hp & 775 rw tq

along with a bunch of other records with NOS, including 8.93 ET, 156 mph trap speed and 1092 rw hp sae. All of these records were obtained more than 6 months ago and are kind of old news, but for anyone interested, the time slips and dyno sheets are on our website.

Quite frankly, I am glad that somebody is stepping up with an effort to go faster at the dragstrip. This gives me more motivation to keep going faster too.

Now that it is just starting to cool down in Texas, we plan to get to the track every month to test. So let the competition begin for quicker ET's and higher trap speeds!

Anyway, best of luck to Jason Heffner, Paolo and others who discover that "once you go TURBO, you never go back, baby".

Paolo - there is a drag race event on Dec. 7 at San Antonio raceway, hosted by Dr. Roof. I would love nothing more than to line up with you for the best 2 out of 3 roll on races, 60 - 160 or whatever you like. Just let me know.

John, there is no disputing the turbos make more power and especially more torque compared to the superchargers since turbos are not robbing engine power to make power like the superchargers.

At the time, Doug Levin told me that turbos were not necessary since 800+ RWHP would be all you would ever need. At the time, this seemed logical enough... But after experiencing and getting used to 887.7 RWHP, I can say that Doug was incorrect! Sorry Doug! You misjudged me on that one! ;) Doug is a great guy nevertheless!

You have been in the Viper tuning business longer than anybody and you definitely made a smart move going directly to the turbos.

I was not aware Terry's car made more actual RWHP(933) than mine did(912). I was thinking of Jamie Parker's car that made around 900 actual RWHP.

In regards to JKRACER's stating you had a top speed record, he obviously meant in the 1/4 mile. You know what I think of when someone says top speed... I thought you went faster than 246 MPH on the big end. I think the Heffner Twin Turbo System will be a fantasitc addition to the small list of tuners offering twin turbo kits for the Viper. All I can say is that it will be a very exciting upcoming year and I cannot wait! I hope my car will be finished for the December 07 event. It would be a pleasure to run you from a roll from 60-160MPH, but I think 100-200 would be even more fun! :thumb:

I have seen both systems, and I can tell you that Jason Heffners TT system looks nothing like what Hennessey has been making. John Hennessey has been making big power on TT cars for quite some time. Jason Heffner will be making his debut on the TT side of vipers soon, but from what Ive seen so far, its DEFINITELY more metallic sculpture with the high quality that was used in his proven SC systems. Im eagerly awaiting a possible move to TT in the near future.

This will be a race that I would love to see! Might influence my decision on which company to go with. If it goes down John.....post a video (of course of a legal race on a closed course ;) )

Does anyone know when pics of Jason's system will be up..... everyone keeps saying its a work of art. NOT FAIR! I WANNA SEE IT! /images/graemlins/cry.gif

Hi Paolo - the easy part of doing a twin turbo viper system is building the first one (no really that easy). The harder part is testing it and finding what works and what does not work from both a performance and reliability standpoint. The hardest part is being able to build it on a production basis. At least that has been my experience for the 9 twin turbos we have built to date.

Terry's twin turbo made 933 rw hp actual and 907 rw hp sae. Parker's twin turbo made 900 rw hp actual and 892 rw hp sae.

You are right, you are only going to need one race with me to realize the truth.

See you soon.
