for a generation II hardtop, are there any special attachment pieces to put a hard top on? Do clips engage the rear like a soft top and the front engage via "handle" like a soft top. I am ordering one and want to be sure that all parts are included. Any help please. Or does the top come with evrything.

It is the same EXCEPT that there are no handles in the front. There is a PIA twist clip that requires an allen wrench (supplied) to be inserted and used as a handle to lock the "t-inserts" to the top of the window frame. I really have no idea why they did not go with the handles since it is not easy to check that the top is locked without the visual evidence of the handles.

You do get a dual net storage compartment under the front middle of the hardtop (no on the soft top). Actually a nice usable pocket.

Toby, I did ask the person I ordered it from /images/graemlins/freak3.gif /images/graemlins/supergrin.gif but the top is used and wanted to be sure, that's why there's you guys right? To help question laden members like me? However, I assume your response was an excercise of levity. city snake, thanks for the input, that was everything I needed to know. /images/graemlins/applause.gif

After the top has gone on and off a bunch of times, you can turn the latches with your fingers and you don't need the allen wrench. Allen wrenches are for garage queens. /images/graemlins/supergrin.gif

A bade is a type of hard shellfish that is only found in the carribean, it's well known for it's poison and the fact that it eats other bade during the spring...hell, I don't know. :bonk:

I was thinking about this only a few days ago -- pretty much ANYBODY who has an RT/10 should do whatever they can to score a hard top now. I've seen the other aftermarket tops and I believe the Mopar top is much better quality, even if it does weigh a friggin' ton and is ridiculously expensive.

Simply put, for all practical purposes the hard top converts your roadster into a regular car. Wind noise is virtually gone, and if you have a loud exhaust, it really helps on long trips.

Totally worth the money, and now that the Germans have stopped building the real Vipers, it won't be long before hard tops are either impossible to find or are commanding a real premium price...

Nice point McGuireV10. It is a beauty of a spectacle for sure....but so is the gts. I'm an rt10 owner and hmmm...something about those coupe's you know? They're beautiful....but when I'm on the beach, I think....something about those targa tops. They're both great.

EXACTLY! Come November, I put the hard top on and it's like I've got a new car (again). The hard top completely changes the "feeling" of the roadster. Best of both worlds IMHO.
