Hello all,

This is my first post here, I have been browsing but never had a reason to post until now. The sale of my z06 is scheduled to end in a few days and ive made a decision step up into the viper world. I know a few things about the faqs and tidbits and think a GTS would be fit for me.

Moving forward, I would be willing to shell out roughly 45k for a clean GTS with low miles. Would prefer silver, but red is definitely not out of the question. I have seen quite a few recently, and the prices have dropped from the first of the year.

I have searched autotrader.com, viperclub.com, ebaymotors.com, this board and a few others in search of my next car. Hopefully this post generate some interest in the few that would be willing to part with their cars.

If anyone would be willing to entertain my offer, feel free to email me at [email protected] or post here to this site.

Thanks for your time.

So no more drag pro huh? Is the guy that bought it planning on ever taking it to the track?

You can probably find a red 96-97 GTS with under 10k miles for around $45k. Silver was only offered in 98-99 and for $45k its probably going to have around 20k miles on it.

Ok guys, give him our usual welcome.

What you need is a nice blue/white stripes 96/97!!

I have a great silver RT 10 but that's the best for the bux!

Plenty out there, too!

Of course, you could always get a nice silver GTS too.

You can't lose. Welcome to the world of Viper, so much above the Vettes.

Michael, make sure you get a forged piston 1996-1999 GTS in case you want to do forced induction. 2000+ up cars have the cast pistons and do not hold up as well.
He has 45K to spend...I doubt he needs to worry about getting a 2000 and up car!!!! Unless he wants a "Clean" Salvaged car!

Eddie,
Yes, the dragpro car is gone. The new guy does plan to take it to the track, I believe he's going to unveil it at the national gathering. I can't say that I miss it one bit, I completely fell out of the modding gig before I had the car back. I hope the new guy goes balls to the wall with it though, maybe he can raise the bar within the 3si world.

Else wise, I'm kicking myself more and more when I see these prices nowadays. I recall sometime in December '03 finding a silver '98 with < 10k for 42k. I should have jumped all over it. The only thing thats left in the air is the color. I really like the blue/white, but unfortunately I'm not a stripe kinda guy. Red looks great but it's too racy for me. Silver has class all the way around and just looks clean. Black looks good but I would have to get it on a 99 model, which would be higher priced than the others. I'm torn on what to do. How about everyone post some pictures of vipers in different colors. 1997-1999 colors will do.

From that other Viper site:

GTS Colors by Year:

1996: Blue/White
1997: Red, Blue/White
1998: Red, Red/Silver, Silver, Silver/Blue
1999: Red, Red/Silver, Black, Black/Silver, Silver

If you can't have stripes it's Red, Black, or Silver.
If you can have stripes you can have the best looking color combination ever. See picture at left.

Correction, the Silver/Blue combo is in 1999, not 98.
