Forget the smack, let\'s put the $$ where the mouth is...

How's this for a crazy-ass idea... We'll do a V-10 nats pool (kinda like an NCAA basketball pool). $50 to get in. Winner and 2nd place split the pot 75% / 25% . If $50 is too rich for your blood, we could make it $25 or $10.

I'll put together the pool sheets if people want to have some fun with this. Payout is cash day-of the main event.

Or if this is too complicated, we could just make it final 4 for EACH class...

Weighted scoring based on classes. In the event of a tie, winners can either a) split the pot or b) we'll come up w/ something...

I need to see if the good Dr's welcoming committee would be willing to hand out a flyer talking about this when people come in the door... That could make for quite a pool. The real question is, though, how much $$ to enter?

i say up it to a cnote each, everyone here con afford it and lets face it, that would make a sweet little pot.

now, what are we going to bet on (other than the fact im walking away with some wins).

i suggest we make some well rounded categories so everyone whether stock or heffnerized has a fair chance at making some scratch.

i got some ideas but ill keep it quiet till ironman JD asks for my input

Give me input, Mojo-man!

I was initially thinking a simple bracket where you pick the final 4, final pairings, and winner in EACH category. Get 1 point for each correct name in the #4 column, 2 points for each correct name in final matchups, and 4 points for correctly predicting the winner of the final matchup.

highest points total = winner takes 2/3. 2nd highest gets the 1/3.

But I could use some input, so what else would work?

thatd work just fine. simple, just like a football pool.

we can also do osubcategories; breakouts, redlights, highest MPH, hell, we can bet on practically anything so imagination is the limit. main thing is making it fair for all regardless of mods and experience (car and driver)

It's about time guys. I started a private club here called The Gentlemans Club a couple years back. We have a group of guys here that bet on every sporting event, every night. The name comes from the fact that you have to be a Gentleman to pay your debts. And in 2 years a debt has never gone unpaid. The sport of racing is no different. I would also suggest letting folks that are not racing place bets on their favorite car/driver/viper/tuner as well. Smack is great. But putting your money where your mouth is wins all day. I won't be modding another Viper till the Coupe. But I'll put money on the races all day.
