I hate to step on anyone's toes.... but I have an idea for an emergency soft top that I am moving forward on..... now.

I did the drawings several weeks ago... and have found an upholstery shop to help me with the prototype.

Prototype should be ready in about one month.

This top is lightweight and will be able to be installed in about 30 seconds.... it will replace the top, the side windows (in Gen I configuration) and the rear window. It will be just an emergency soft top... won't be able to withstand more than 60-65 MPH. But should keep 99% of the water yet.

If anyone is interested let me know.... I have no idea on price yet.. as the prototype is not completed yet. I have measurements and drawings...just have to construct it.

Again, if anyone is interested let me know. There has been a lot of talk about this type of product and I thought I just go ahead and build my idea. Worst case I have my own emergency soft top.

Thanks, Lance

Lance...Anything I can do to help, let me know...I don't want a dime...I don't want a free one...I just want a damn bikini top for my RT...no windows, just like the Jeeps...

Oh, and it needs to be small enough so I can shove it up the tech's ass at Rockfalls Raceway...I'll roll it up real tight!

WAR BOHEMITH RT SOFT TOP!

A friend of mine had a soft top manufactured at a sail shop (where they repair and make new sails). His top was better than factory after they where done -i was thorougly impressed by the workmanship and experience they showed in the finished product.

If it "folds" up to leave some trunk space and is really a 30 second (60 would be fine) install, I'd be interested. 60 MPH limit is OK since I'd only be using it for unexpected rainstorms...and driving fast in the rain would not be a great loss. It would probably be used to wait out the storm anyway.
