Tried to get my mail but all I get is an error message. Tried to log in for it but get same message.

Your log in name and password are the same until you change that...did you try that?

It won't let me log in. I keep getting an error message instead of the e-mail log in page.

also, try clearing cookies and logging back in....

Below that it says- "Go to the Login page"

Tried that but keep getting the same above message.

Cleared cookies, No help.
Logout,then login, no help.
Retry above again, still no workie.

I can log off and back on to the board with no problem, just with e-mail

MP...I am having the same problem now too....HELP! /images/graemlins/frown.gif I know my login name and password is correct and it won't let me log in! It says "ERROR unknown user or password incorrect."

I've been doing some work with the email side; everything should be back to normal. If you cannot login, do this:

clear all your cookies (click on Clear Cookies). Then log back in and go to your email.

If that doesnt work, you *may* need to go into your browser settings and make sure you have none for www.viperalley.com).

once you have done that, log back in.

I've been working the past 4 hours on something that will let you know when you have new email - its been a real pain in the butt and i've been all over the email code.

should be fine now, though

I cleared all my cookies and browser...still doesn't work. I don't have time for it now, but we can fix it later. Thanks for trying anyway MP.

You are using the right passwords, right? The ones I sent you, not your forum passwords..... I can get in fine (as can others); so we just have to figure out whats up with your accounts. I can reset the passwords if need be.

The above pretty much sums it it up. I have tried with the password you sent but I can't even get a sign in page to come up.

I will clear the cookies again. I cleared all of them from my pc. What a chore to remember all of my passwords to all the sites I use. /images/graemlins/laughing.gif

I just got in but it still is not correct. Here is what I did

Clear all board cookies using link on top of page.
Cleared all cookies on my pc.
Went directly to Viperalley e-mail.Did this before logging on to board.
Logged in with my e-mail addy and new password supplied by MP.
Got in. YEA! :dance:
Tried to change password. Would not let me. issed:
Got this message- Account name-xxxx-xx.xx.xxx.xx

Not valid username or password

Can not get back in again.

It was my e-mail because I check it out.

MP if you need to know anymore let me know.

I think whats happening is that I had to make a change to the cookies to be "sitewide"; this change was made so I can make a "You got mail" message on the forums when you have new email.

I've made one more adjustment to remove the "old" cookie when you are in the email and hopefully that will clear this up.

I sent you both PMs with your ids and passwords and verified that both can be logged into.

Jerome, I'll check the change password feature and I reset yours to the one I sent you.

Same with me MP...I gotta log out of ViperAlley to check my email and then when I log in and try to check it the email tells me unknown user or password.... /images/graemlins/frown.gif

Okay, I found the problem. The two systems (email and forums) are overrighting each others sessions. As long as you have the same id (like i do: packetjunkie) you are okay. The problem is when they dont match.

I know how to fix the problem and will work on it tonight.

Sorry for the complications; bringing these systems together isnt easy, but we're very close!

In the meantime, you can check your email by logging out of the forums and then into your email. Once you login back into the forums, you will be logged out of your email and will have to log off the forums to log back in.

Hope to have this resolved later tonight.
