some useful info below, for right hand drive conversions relates to one that made it to the UK
Our company Viperformance in Australia converted this vehicle to R/H/D right hand drive we were contracted by Daimler Chrysler in Australia to convert 25 Dodge Vipers, one of which was the last RT/10 to be built by the Factory, sorry it's already converted and has a new home in New Zealand. The conversion cost is approx $35,000 AUS. There is no kit supplied to us, We tooled up for these vehicles. We also have tooled up for 92-96 models 97 model and 98-2002. The refinishing program as it is called by Daimler Chrysler was 3 years in the making. We had engineers from Detroits Viper line inspect our conversions and also Daimler Chryslers independent engineers in Australia before we got the Blessing to go ahead. This is the first factory backed program outside of America the first in the world authorised by Daimler Chrysler. For more information check out web site Media Release at www.chryslerviper.com.au. We have been converting Dodge Vipers in Australia for the past 7 years. Two of our RT/10'S have had their tow boxes signed by Bob Hubbach. We offer after sales service , new and used parts. We also sell apparell and Viper merchandise. If you want any further information please feel free to contact us.
I was in Sydney just over two years ago...saw a GEN1 red RT/10 and almost fell over. I couldn't believe it was there. My wife and I were just talking about buying a BMW to replace my truck and I made my decision there.
Three months later I was back in the US and had a 95 Viper in my garage.
My truck now has 109K miles on it. One more year and our deal is off and I can buy a sedan, not even sure if I want the BMW now.
and............Jennifer is a joy to work with. She is also much more attractive than Dee, though rumors are Dee can consume 4 pints of Foster about twice as quickly as Jennifer. The story is all true, and the SRT folks we talked to that saw the 911 Factory's work , said it was top-notch.
Onionboy - there are 2 2002 Vipers still for sale as new cars in New Zealand thru the dealerships, and there will still be some in Australia as well. It wasn't a marketing success because they priced them up almost with Ferrari's and baby Lambo's which was crazy.
As for a SRT10 Viper - there is one being done right now - it is red and it is for sale. Ph Viperperformance and ask for Dion. They have a SRT10 Viper factory mule which they've used to get molds off etc so did not have to use the red car to experiment. The car for sale is a 2003 and will be ready in a few weeks. It only has delivery miles.
If you'd like a new 2004 model - pm me - I recently set up a company for a friend of mine that owns it to do just this. He is already importing cars and trucks to Australia and NZ for RHD conversions, he's a great guy, honest, and would be delighted to help you. He owns the red SRT10 plus a twin turbo silver SRT10 that is about to be announced from the Heffner Performance mega power kitchen
