From reading 2002 Service manual there is a "Data Link Connector" by the clutch pedal.

Is there a hand-held code reader available for the Viper that will connect to the Data Link Connector. To retrieve the recognized abormal condition in the system and display the code?

Yes. Any OBDII code reader will do. Once you get the code, its up to you to do what you will with the numbers.
