Is there any advantage of getting the chrome inlet tubes with filters and getting rid of the airbox? or is it just for looks?

If ya keep the hot air from the radiator gettin' to the filters, they flow better

Take a look at the plate I that put on top of the cross brace, it is posted on the morgue in "My" pictures.

I made a plate that separrates them from the radiator back to the cross bar right in front of the alternator. Just gets air from the duct that scoops from the fascia area.
