Well, took the ol' Viper out for a spin today and passed by a yellow car/truck and had to do a double-take. Was that one of those new retro Chevy SS-R's? It was!! Easy enough to do a U-turn in the Viper (man, do they turn well) and cacth him. Turns out he is a bigwig with GM (they have a couple plants here) and about as nice as anyone I have encountered in that capacity. He was more than happy to show us the car/truck and do a demo of the convertible hardtop. Here are some pictures I took of this manufacturer plated vehicle (car goes on sale in December/January):

And then up goes the fully automatic top - VERY cool two-piece unit with two-piece boot that pops into place as well:

20" wheels in the back and 19" in the front. Good looking with the top up too!

Here is the bed of the truck, carpeted and complete with polished wood trim. The bed cover is also electrically operated and goes up with the push of a button:

Close up with the dash, including 70's vintage GM numbering on the gauges:

5.3 liter V8, dual exhaust, and 300 horsepower. Nice!

And attention to detail? You just gotta hand it to the bowtie boys whether you like 'em or not. This is the top of the door edge molding with the Chevy bowtie cutout:

All in all a pretty sweet looking truck driven by an extremely nice GM exec. He may even be bringing it by our next local Viper meeting to show the owners. Should be fun!
