Does anyone know where I can buy a set of polished center caps for Gen 2 rims?

Keep an eye on eBay, as they pop up every now and then. Should be approximately $100-150 bucks. A lot less than if you try ordering them from the dealer. You may also want to contact JonB at partsrack.com. I have no idea what his price is, but he may even have stock on good used ones.

Has anyone ever removed the clear coat and polished center caps ?

I removed the clear and base paint form one of my Gen 1 rims and center cap with aircraft stripper. After everything was removed I wet sanded and started polishing, so far it does not look the best, work has pulled me away from the project so maybe when things slow down I will be able to finish.
