I dont know if you are going to get an accurate response from any of us. Try LS1.com if you want to talk about F-bodies.
Yeah I am gonna try that ... but i just wanted to know if any of the viper guys have any experience with vipers :> thanx anyway

Yes I have experience with my viper /images/graemlins/supergrin.gif

I had a 93 firebird. I loved that car and I think the LT-1 is one hell of a motor. I have seen F-bodies with the 502 crate droped in. It is my understanding puting a big block in is not easy but their is a kit.
I too have been thinking about buying a late model F body(can be had pretty cheap) guting the hell out of it and droping in a big block.

hahah i meant f-bodies :>
Thats the same reason I bought the camaro... I am gonna have to look into that.. 502 in a camaro sweet !! hehe thanks
Why not go stroker and spray? That seems to be the easiest way. I am not all that familiar with LT1s as much as I am LS1s, but I think you could go 383 or 396 solid roller. I know 1Tony1 has got his Fbody to run a 9 so maybe he will chime in. Take a look at MTIs website and see if there is anything there you may be interested in.

Good info. Pretty hard to argue with that, But I just love a big block. The 502 in an F body just sounds cool. I am interested to see who will be the first to pop the new GM 572 crate motor in one.
I didnt wanna go with a stroker because my engine is fucked up.. I need a new engine so thats why I thought just get a new crate motor with the horsepower and torque I need. And a big block in camaro sound fun
I have a '94 Z28 that is my road race car. It's mods won't get you into the 9's though. I'm active in several F-body clubs and can probably get you hetever info you need.

A friend of mine has a '96 Z that is running 9's with a blown and intercooled stroker. He has a very detailed web page here:

Thank you very much Matt !!
Heres some info /images/graemlins/smile.gif Don't waste your money...buy my car for $30,000. Its a 1994 Formula, black, I bought it new, 23,000 miles. MTI 396 stroker, Procharger D1, 9" Ford rear with the best avalible parts/lightened parts/alum ctr section, F.A.S.T. a/f-spark mgmt. based on w/b 02....and much much more. Last race was a 9.92 @ 142. No changes in the last three years. With about three thousand $$ this car could run mid nines all day long. Air and everthing is still there, 3750+ lbs. with driver.

I have a better pic but this one isn't bad: http://www.gafba.com/members/member.asp?mem_ID=TOAR98
