Re: Anyone have an \'03 Cobra?

i am pushing the limits of the stock supercharger at this time. There is no doubt the KB unit is a good part but a costly upgrade. I have built a custom heat exchanger that increases the density and lowers the air charge temp over 100 degrees.

Prior to this mod we were shooting a 50hp shot into the supercharger at pressures above 15psi. Now we do not need the nitrous to make the same power.

Other mods include full length headers, X-pipe, Bassani exhaust, 2.8 upper and 4# lower pullies, Billet-Flow monoblade throttle body and housing, with a custom burned ECU. Mostly just bolt-ons and getting 567 rwhp.

We modify tons of '03 Cobras. Our best yet is just under 490rwhp, and that's on 91-octane gas. We achieved that with Ford Motorsport shorty headers, Bassani x-pipe (w/ cats), Bassani cat-back, 2.80" blower pulley, high-flow air filter, and dyno-tuning. Stock throttle body.
We're finishing up a custom wet nitrous system tomorrow. Should be good. :burn:

Re: Anyone have an \'03 Cobra?

Let me know how that top end rebuild goes after the Nitrous POPS the blower. A wet system is just asking for an explosion. Just ask a few '03 Cobra owners on the boards. Two here in Houston alone are eating their warranties and having to buy new crate engines because a local tuner said a wet system is no problem. One missed shift is all that it takes to put the blower through the hood and separate the head from the block.

I use a small intake dry shot and program it into the chip. Only way to do it right. Best of luck though.

NICE!!! I like those numbers, besides a cobra how much money roughly does one need to have in order to obtain around 500hp out of rustang and not doing it oneself???

I have an idea for a new ricer product, CO2 gas with UV dye added - and
a purge set up with a UV light - I bet Mike could pull it off.
It wouldn't be functional - but dramatic visual effects.

Damn - the NOS purge pic didn't pull down - you'll have to scroll up to see
what I'm talking about.
