Anyone ever polish \"Viper\" on the valve covers??

Anyone ever polish "Viper" on the valve covers?? Just wondering what you used, and how it turned out. They start to tarnish after awhile, and I'd like to get'em looking good again. Also the bare metal "rails" on the intake.

Re: Anyone ever polish

Yeh! , you are right! I just put on the chrome oil cap and was looking for something else. Good idea!

Just use some very fine grit sand paper on a flat block. Take about 5 minutes - looks great - and last about a month or so.

JH23,
Due to the VC's being Magnesium they gray out quickly due to oxidation, but they look terrific for about 20mins (I tried). /images/graemlins/laughing.gif

Spray,

Vipermed in Florida did it , I may want to sell it in about a year when I go with a supercharger.
Re: Anyone ever polish

Polish them, then get a can of Por-15's high-temp clear coat. This stuff is rock hard and will not chip or fade.

Coat the whole covers as directed. Never will loose it's luster.
