Does anyone know of any 1996 'Shelby Addition' Vipers for sale? Looking for a low mileage, all original and collision free Viper. As far as I know, there were supposed to have been 50 built, but only 19 total. I'm not 100% sure of the actual numbers.
Do you mean "Shelby Edition"? In a way, you are correct; all of the parts that were put on the car by Fitzgerald Dodge were additions to a standard Viper.

No, these were 1996 factory vipers that went to Carrol Shelby and he modified them to his specs. They were all white with the blue la mans stripe, the seats had 'CS' initials along with 'CS' badging. He also signed each one.
There is a guy that lives around the corner from my friend back in Houston that has one. I looked at it in his garage one night cause his neice is friends with a friend of mine up here....if that makes any sense. Doubt he is selling it, but I'll try and find out if he would or not. The car hardly leaves the garage I know that though. Probably has next to no miles on it.
I saw the cars being converted at that time at Fitzgerald's old bodyshop in Laconia, NH. Too bade I didn't own a digital camera back then. It wasn't a pretty sight. :ugh:
Wow, Well that's a disappointment.I only saw one photo and was curious if they were out there. So in your opinion(s), would you say that the Shelby version is not worth the fancy penny?
Front of the grill/radiator is open ie: there is not a cross(+) in the crosshair grill anymore(i dont know if they added any extra support to hold up the bottom of the facia or if it needed it).

The only association that Shelby actually had with these cars was to physically hand sign each glovebox & give his blessing. The bastardization of these cars was done at the dealership in NH, not at Shelby's plant in CA.
No sir. I just had these pictures on my pc for years back.
