You'll probably get more HP than you would with those pricey aftermarket catbacks.
Obviously, straight pipe side exhaust would be louder than straight pipe rear exhaust, your ear is right on top of the exhaust. Rear is also quieter because there's another ten feet of pipe for the sound to travel.
