Seriously in the market for a Viper and saw this gorgeous yellow Viper GTS with Apex Lethal 650 package with 7,600 miles with an asking price of $73,000.

It has HRE wheels, custom Venzano leather interior, custom Eclipse sound system. Just want to hear thoughts about this.

thanks!!!!

sounds high but has some nice mods figure the real cost of the car with no mods then see how much you are paying just for the mods and if you feel it is worth it, buy it. You will get so many opinions but you have to decide yourself. If it makes you happen you can never pay to much.

Remember it is like many upgrades even in a used home, when sold they are not worth a fraction of the cost if anything at all.

Then again if that is the Viper for you who is to say.

I would contact other tuners and ask for package prices and then look at other Vipers with 6K miles. HRE wheels cost, Venzano seats cost, I have them in my Viper but there are others that do seats at a savings.

Ask them what the Viper puts out, RWHP and then take it to a private dyno of your choice and see how close to the numbers you get.

In today's market Vipers can be found for very few dollars.

Good Luck

The final price went down to $68,000. The APEX Lethal 650 package sells for $19K. The HRE wheels are like over $5K. The owner is giving me a new set of rear tires and custom bra. The car puts out over 550HP to the wheels. New thoughts and comments? /images/graemlins/smiles

thanks

If this is the car I think it is..Wayne has been trying to sell this car for over a year now- There's no doubt that no expense was spared when he built this car.

If you really like it I'd offer him $60K -$63K .

Lets face it , its a Buyer market and Heavily modded cars are a tough sell.

Good Luck !

agreed. aftermarket work has very little resale...especially from a company that (from my understanding) doesn't even do Viper upgrades anymore therefore, the tuner name has zero value...not that it ever really did. Not saying they didn't do good work but lots of tuners out there do good work but very few have "marketable" names that raise values with their packages. It is not easy to do. You are in the driver seat with so many cars available right now. Buy right or regret it when it is your turn to resell.

Many other tuners still in business today sell "650" packages that are less expensive too. What was paid to upgrade the car is not a concern, what the market is on a modded car is all you should be concerned with when talking $$!

thanks for all the comments. One thing I am sure of is that the car was never raced or abused. It is always in a heated garage so I think, the car not being abused or raced is a good thing to factor in for $68,0000?

To offer an opposing view, (and I do not know the car which is a very important factor...enough to render this opinion irrelevant) I'd consider buying a stock version and doing the mods yourself. You might pay a bit more when it's all said and done, but you will know that the end product is all matched properly and wind up with a warranty.

I sure wouldn't value anything from Apex at $68,000. They don't even work on Vipers anymore after their fiasco they had. What year is it? They should come waaaay down on that price IMO. Just figure what you can get for the car w/o any of the mods. And we all know how to value the resale of mods done to a Viper. Or any sports car for that matter. $68K? No way. At $68K your darn near paying retail for the pkg. itself. And that pkg is worth a fraction of that.

funny you mentioned the ET...yeah...pretty much common if you dont have good traction with the Supra. Just got it out of the shop and it is now running full MOTEC. First ever car that MOTEC built that has the factory ABS working with MOTEC Traction control!
