6\" subs by jl audio

I'm upgrading my tunes in the Viper.
I got an alpine head unit, infinity kapas for the doors.
I want to put the subs in the factory 6' speaker location between the seats.
Has anybody tryed the 6' jl subs? If not what else can I fit there?
Also, blaupunkt has a 2" deep free air subs, Has anybody put these under the seats?
I want to run this system with one 3 or 4 way amp.(I have a 4 way pheonix gold amp)
thinking of going 5.1 with a center channel above the sub or is two six" subs better?

Re: 6\" subs by jl audio

I have them in my GTS someone suggested them on org.

Not as much bass as I thought, but I just swapped them out with the factory. I think when I do the door speakers and have it all set up right it will be good.

Thanks,
Jason

Focal makes a nice sub that fits in the factory holes.

I did the JL's in my Gen I car with an upgraded Allpine V-12 amp (they did not make a V-10 ;) ) eclispe component set in the door bottoms and left the factory tweeters hooked up and WOW DID IT ROCK! How I made the JL's sound good is we enclosed the back side of the speaker box by fiberglassing it to make kind of a mini bass box. It worked great and when it was all put back together everything looked stock. I can't remember how much I spent because I already owned everything except the component set and the JL's and they installed everything for free just to work on a Viper.

They fit in the rear holes in the GTS trunk no problem!

Hey Jason, how much room is there behind that console?
can I build a fiber glass box of lets say a half cube for my jl sub.
Im going to keep it simple and use the sub out on my new deck to cross the subs over with. probably at 80 hertz or so.
