Just got it.What do you think it needs ?

K&N filter ?

Duel exhaust ?

It's got the 5.3 litre and needs some more balls.

Borla makes a good one, have it on Cady. Filter is shit save the pennies and supercharge it.
You still won't notice much with bolt on's on the 5.3 with the weight of the Suburban. Get a Whipple supercharger on there and it'll definitley wake up.
Another problem is Torque Management. If you stomp it to the floor it will seem like a boat. Briskly pressing the pedal down may allow you to spin a tire but not much. You may not feel the results of the mods as much as you would like.

On another note, the Corsa for the 5.3 Avalanche sounds pretty good.
AS&M headers. Corsa catback. Yank converter. Magnuson supercharger. tuning. and you will be good to go!

Yeah, that sounds like the right approach.

Or, you could drop a 405HP LS6 in it like the guy had Valaya do with his Avalanche.

And with no bottom-end to move that fat pig off the start. You'd need a big stall converter to put that up where the LS6 makes power....u don't need an SUV to have the powerband of a sports car. U need some low end grunt (torque).
Why would anyone want to spend the money to drop in an LS6 in a Suburban? There are way better crate engines to use that are cheaper and produce much better low end torque, I'd rather pick up GM's regular 6.0 and go from there for the $$.

Personally I would go with the Whipple charger, your going to get the low end boost/torque of the Eatons (Magnuson) with the high end power of a Centrifugal. Those twin-screws (Whipple, Kenne Bell) produce awsome, flat torque bands from almost off idle to redline, and man do they have a mean scream.
