So the delaer let me drive home this new 2004 Durango SLT with the "Family Group" (DVD player, different kind of leather) and a HEMI. It's got the sunroof and all the other goodies - they want $31k ($800 over invoice and $5,000 in rebates). $800 over invoice seems a little much with all the bargins out there today.

Overall, seems like a decent ride - bigger than my 2000 Durango and better engine. Not sure its enough for me to make the upgrade, though.

The suspension on the new durango is a vast improvment over the truck based stuff on the Gen I trucks. IMO the rear end looks too much like a mini van but overall it's a nice truck. If your not super psyched on it keep yours and wake up the 5.9, you can make those things scream.

I have seen two different RT prototypes. The first one was all black (no chrome) and had the 20 inch chrome wheels from the dodge ram. It may have had dual exhaust too.

The other one I saw was a Carlisle, this one was awesome. I will see if I can upload some pics.

Ugh, get rid of all the chrome!

The Durango is great for guys like me who have a bunch of kids; that third bench is a necessity. The new Durangos even have a split rear bench with bigger seating for older kids (much more comfortable).

There aren't alot of smaller-sized SUVs which have the third seat, you know.

SUV's should be used for towing. You wanna tow, but a diesel. towing with a wimpy v-8 is for chicks and **** with little tiny aluminum boats /images/graemlins/toothy

What does MP need to tow anyway? Also does teh new durango come with a lifetime supply of ball joints and transmissions???? /images/graemlins/toothy
