11.20s possible in a stock \'01 RT/10 with drag radials???

I was thinking about this the other day. I clicked off an 11.37 in a '02 Z06 that put down 385 rwhp running ET Streets. I just dynoed my '01 RT and it put down 415 rwhp. That's 30 more ponies but the car's a bit heavier. Is it going to be a wash or are 11.20s possible in a bone stock car on sticky tires?

hes talkin ET streets not street tires or drag radials and with a top notch driver and an excellent track (say; bradenton) yes its possible. got guys like pauls from akron doing 1.3x short times with stock and with bolt-on mods only, its possible

11.23 on Pilots?!?! What kind of short time are we talking about? That's incredible! Especially that e-town isn't always the best-prepped track. I assume this must've been something like a -2000 DA day? This gives me hope.

I bet it can happen under the right conditions. I like renting Atco in the Fall because the track prep there is second to none. We sometimes pay extra to spray more VHT to increase traction (and to increase the chances of breaking shafts /images/graemlins/laughing.gif). If we race in good air and a well-prepped track, I think 11.20s are quite possible.

I'm suprised at you. You think track conditions will give your car a full second ? The day you ran wasn't so bad either.

This means a stock car with a 100 shot of spray on PILOTS could go mid 10's. You guys kill me.

Call me and lets start setting up a Viper/Vette challange at Atco. It will be just us guys. No sport compacts or anything else. I still don't believe at the big Viper events we should have to share a track.

You know me and you know I don't talk out of my ass. That's why I asked the question here to see what people thought. However, I think that more practice in this car, drag radials, good track prep, and good air will shave a second off my time. Tires alone should account for close to 1/2 second. Think about it, Jeff, I ran a 11.37 in a car that put down less hp/tq. With the bolt-ons my Z put down 30 less hp than the stock Viper. Remember, we're talking stock Viper on drag radials, not Pilots.

The guy running the Super Car Challenge (Vette Vs Viper) said he's adding a race in mid-November at Atco. This should be a great event considering the number of fast cars in our area. Viper turnout in general has been low. I don't know what to do to get more Viper guys to attend? Higher entry/payouts, more sponsors, hookers? It sucks that this series is dominated by Vette entries. If they definitely add the Atco race, I'll race both of my cars.

How about a $1000 entry fee? At least you have a shot of taking home some decent money.

I don't know why Viper guys don't going racing as much either. We can get 72 Vipers to take a cruise to OCC, but can't get 10 to go to the track. I'm looking at a S/C Z06 so I can come play with you Vette guys.

I'll be at Atco anytime there is a Viper event or a track rental. Count me in...

And I don't doubt your skills as a driver, but would need to see these times in person to believe it. The more power to you if you get it done.

If it's going to happen, it will have to be at Atco in the fall.

I think Dave Fogel is selling his Z, if you're interested. Cam only car with some bolt-ons and 4.10s.

I'm trying to meet more Viper owners in hopes of persuading them to race.
