Could it be physics and fluid dynamics? :idea:

The 996 has a significant advantage on the viper in coefficient of drag. This is the specific area as to why this viper is getting beaten on the big end. Out of the "hole" its all over the porsche, but once the turbos spool and speeds climb, it can make up that loss.

because i have raced a few 911 TTs in my GTS and my Z06 and the 911s have never walked me like that! the Z will stay neck and neck with the 911 up to about 120 mph.... and the GTS will pull 1/2 to a full car length or so up until about 115 mph then the GTS starts pulling even more and walks away from the 911....


and fyi, i just read over at the other site that the 911 has a chip, exhaust and a few other mods making it run 123 traps in the 1/4.

Because he is right. That 911 TT is NOT stock. It's trapped a best of 123 mph in the 1/4. Gives you an idea what kind of power it's making.
