Hey Austin and other PS'ers.

Is there any way y'all could try to find similar angles of the new Gen V and some of the classic GTS pictures for direct side by side comparisons. I'm interested in comparing lines, etc.

Thanks.

I'd be afraid of all the win the original GTS would have versus the lesser car. I want to see BlackSnake99 race a Gen. V now that he FINALLY has his fucking blower installed.

640RWHP vs 640 crank horsepower...LET'S DO THIS.

I think the Gen. V looks newer but not better. It takes a few mods (wheels/lowering) to make the GTS stand out; that blue/white is classic but completely stock and looks a little dated in those pics.

That said; mod the Gen. II and do a little Photoshoppery to the pic so it looks as polished as the Gen. V and I don't think the new car looks better:

Sorry, backing Jason on this one. I still like the Gen 2 better.

Two completely different cars. One is an interpretation of a classic race car, the Shelby Daytona. The other is a modern American (well, Italian-American) quasi-exotic supercar. It would be like saying that a ZR1 is better looking than a '69 427/435 Stingray. Personally I think that those who say 'Oh, the Gen V makes the Gen II look like shit' sound retarded. Apples to oranges, folks.

Would I want a Gen V? No. I wouldn't DD it and I think it would be a waste of money to let it sit in my garage to be driven only on nice weekends. I don't need an 18 speaker sound system with a touch screen to go blasting around the countryside and go to cruise-ins and C&C.

MHO.

Your face is fucking grouchy.

It's just my opinion, but I think they got it wrong. There are car companies that have gotten the whole reinterpretation thing right (Ford with the GT and Mustang, Dodge with the Challenger) but Dodge missed the mark on this one. It shares features with the original car but seems to be lacking true Viper DNA...probably because of the Italian influence.

Maybe it's like the Charger or Camaro...where the original car is cool, and the update is cool...but the new Chargers/Camaros are NOT the same kind of car the old ones were. I think I may like the car if it wasn't being called a Viper, but since it is I have to say I like the old shit better.

It's a cool car, but it's not a Viper IMHO.

Thanks Austin.

The rear lines seem strikingly similar. That rear lip and the roof lines seem almost identical. The diffuser on the Gen V is a welcomed addition.

The side view seems somewhat similar. The Gen V hood lines from the side seem to have more "crown" and the side vents are different. It will be interesting to see the side views compared in real life. I'm curious to see the dimensions of the two cars side by side.

The front.........basically a different car from that perspective.

I can't wait to see one in person, that's for sure.

No prob. The car looks MUCH better in person. The only thing that hasnt fully grown on me yet, is the front. I absolutely love the rear and side profile.

I wonder how the side visibility is in the Gen V? The side window, roof line is much shorter compared to the Gen 2..
