It sure would have helped the situation if a statement had been made that the VCA BoD was greatly disappointed by the action of this individual, and has banished him to the cornfield. That won't have any believability at this point, though.
This situation is discussed in the audio and Lee is called out on that very fact.

I also just received word that Lee was dumb enough to hold the raffle in his home state of Maryland.

Last post on the morg

Couple of random musings:

* Anyone who tries to work "from the inside" for change is usually run out of office and/or the target of a smear campaign (see: Maurice Liang)
* More people were suspended yesterday in a single day than in the clubs entire 20 year history
* The bylaws themselves are not inherently corrupt. They have been used by someone morally bankrupt to further a vindictive personal agenda - NOT in the best interest of the club

* When even staunch former Chris / Marv / Lee supporters have flown the coop in grand fashion (Adrian Byrd) SOMETHING is terribly wrong
* For those recently appointed to fill the "newly vacant" positions - see above. call him. he figured it out. you will too.

* There is a lot of money at stake here (VPA, Viper Magazine, NBO and "other" activities) and a lot of incentive for some folks to maintain the status quo
* Only 2 things drive this kind of extreme behavior (if you take out drugs and booze) and that's money and ego. Gotta ask yourself what's behind a lot of this - and you'll see that there's money behind much more than you may first think....

If anyone thinks that the actions by the "LEADERS" of the club have been done in the best interest of the club - they need to go back and read the bylaws. The intent and purpose of the club is spelled out there - there's no way that ANY of these actions further any of those stated goals.

No emotion - just some logic and human behavioral observations. I like to think of myself as a student of the human condition and it's been a huge "fishbowl laboratory" around here lately.

I also don't hide behind screen names. I've put myself out there - used to be a member of the "inner circle" and stuck up for Chris and others - when I started to ask respectful, simple questions about finances, money or process to award business / pay for services, I also became targeted. I suspect there are several regional presidents who could tell you what they had been told about me, etc.

Something is rotten in Denmark. Use your brains folks - this isn't normal adult behavior.

Maryland

Raffle Information

The first thing I noticed is raffles there are for charitable organizations.

A non profit for the enjoyment of high powered, high priced sports cars just might not fall under charities.

The second thing is their disclosure has to be signed by their lawyer, with many references to "Charitable"

The third thing is the references to criminal law.

Personal property raffles have County rules as well. Which County was it in?

If that is the case then anyone who bought a ticket could get a refund since it states where the drawing would take place on the ticket. I know if I had bought one I would be demanding my money back.

New Name for a new .Org?

May I suggest Viper Owners Association.

MCVOA = Motor City Viper Owners Assn.

-Association dis-connects with 'club' now a Tainted word.
-Association has a bit more class-panache.
-An Association of Owners can have Associate members.
-Logo-Swaps: the logo VCA and a Sharpie and VCA can be changed to VOA very easily C = O in 10 seconds.

Jon, I agree with most of your points, but we don't want any logo to close to the VCA. We want no confusion.

I encourage ANYONE that purchased a ticket to call their own states gambling commission and start a case. That is how the current MI case was started.

You will need that address in order to file a complaint with MI attorney general. Please refer to previous posts for those links. The VCA's 501 status was issued in MI to that address.

Point out to them that a Viper at top speed could cross the width of the state, 101 miles, in under 30 minutes. They will like that. Then ask if the Viper Club could be considered a charity.
