Just a reminder of Lee's attitude during a discussion on the forum about the minutes from the prior year. Promises were made that the notes would be made available shortly, but Jerzdoughboy just couldn't find time in his busy schedule. Lee's response:
“The 2011 minutes were approved, The Treasurers report was approved, VOI was approved, some suggested bylaw edits were approved and Jon Brobst was suspended and the club suspended all advertising with PartsRack. These are the actions taken by the Board last January."
Then he promptly closed the thread. Does anyone want to retain this guy in any capacity? Don't lose sight of the goal.
That quote from Lee was the final stray for me and since then the VCA has not and will not get one penny from me until there is a major overhaul. This is also the quote I use when people ask me if they should join the VCA.
I've pointed out a major red flag in the financials to the VCA on their expense line where fraud may be taking place. Per CM, Lee was suppose to contact me to go over that line, but three years later and nothing. Time to completely clean house.
It's so pathetic ... I am a member and can't post in there . In addition no winners where posted ... It's a big joke to these people .. I'm shocked that nothing has been done

I guess no matter how often those guys talk about openess and "transparency" they still refuse to say anything or answer to anyone what they are doing that is so "open"?
Could Janni, or someone else in the know put up the current board members with some indication as to whether they should or should not be retained? Most are quite obvious but there are many that we need To examine. I guess the criteria could be:
If I was the president of VCA, I would/would not want this particular member on on my board. Think we need to start looking ahead.
to me, that tweet from Ralph says he expects the VCA to take care of it's business, and be, just fine. Should be encouraging from a "can this relationship be saved" perspective....
Wasn't that letter to Sergio right around the time that the VCA link was removed from the SRT site?
Yes and another anonymous letter after the first one.
Most have no idea how unethical and rotten to the core some people are.The kool aid ran out long ago.But some people still believe the pitcher will be full when they get in line to get their "empty" glass filled.
Best word to describe the situation at hand .......PATHETIC
Good people always prevail even tho at the moment we are not.

The problem with this is that you are basically assuming someone would be a good president and then letting them choose their board.
There is only one true way to clean house at this time.
Get rid of EVERYONE.
Then hold elections and have the VCA members vote on who they want, for every position. If a past board member would like to run then have them throw their hat in the ring and run again. It needs to be a clean sweep for everyone not just a select few.

The charter and bylaws don't allow for that. The VCA is a 501c7 and actually has to follow its bylaws. So -since there is no election provision for a clean sweep or a member voting election - there's actually work that needs to be done in order to have that happen.
I am not saying that it's not possible - but you don't operate outside of the framework that has been set up - because really - isn't that some of the crap that everyone is angry about?

Exactly. Article X gives the Board the right to change the Bylaws as they see fit.
And you need a board to do this - so since it's been stated they every single one of them needs to go - who's the board?
who chooses an interim national business office? Who decides who runs for what position? who handles the election process? are their requirements? again - all this crap needs to be addressed in the bylaws.
It's VERY easy to say get rid of them all - but it's not by wiping everything out at the same time - because - you then don't have a framework for change.
We don't tear up the Constitution because the current administration of the US Gov - we use the framework and elect someone different that thinks like we do and will change / modify things to align more clearly with our views.
It's a hell of a lot more dramatic to say "get rid of them all tomorrow" - but then you have to answer all the "now what's"....
Trying to think strategically and longer term as opposed to just having a high for a tactical strike...

And more importantly, who the hell is going to want to stand up to deal with the potential disaster they left behind.
