I believe the "perceived value" of the old posts/archives is WAY overrated. Searching for old information sucks. Many links do not work any more and more importantly - if a picture was moved/deleted that was in one of those old posts - it disappears from the post leaving you to guess what was being referenced.

Why wouldn't somebody at the VOA just join the VCA and start downloading all the important DIY articles, data, etc and store it on a hard drive until the VCA ceases to exist? Once they're gone, put it up in a special archives section of the VOA and boom, you're done.
A lot of the information is available where you don't even have to be a member, anybody can access it so it is open to post on another forum or anywhere on the internet right now.
The worse thing for the VOA to do is merge with the VCA. The VCA is so infected with bad history and legal liabilities that no amount of penicillin can make that test result negative.
The site owners own everything on it. The people who post there are playing on someone elses playground. Thats why you have no freedom of speech and no entitlements on web forums.
Site owners can delete or modify everything you post and you cant stop them.
I agree that there would be an issue and while VCA could sue over the documents, it would need to have a value that is accountable. But does VCA have a large enough wallet to open small claims cases across the country?
Looking through the case history, the lawyers filed a motion to withdraw as counsel which was granted. Then an order was entered to retain Texas licensed counsel which never was heeded. Then a default judgment was entered.
It appears they didn't pay their lawyers or weren't responding to the lawyers, so they pulled out. Then they never responded to the court order to get a new lawyer, and never showed up in court.
I think that pretty much ends it.... the VCA is dead. Whatever money is left in the bank is going to get seized as part of the judgment. I took a quick look at the VCA site and there have only been about 10 posts on the whole site in all forums in the last week. I don't think the newly elected officers are even actually doing anything or running anything or handling anything. I think at some point soon the website will just disappear because I doubt they are paying the hosting company. And whatever members they have now, they have no money to provide any services whatsoever, even club management services... so there's no way there can even possibly be a club when this membership year is up.
It's all about when the website goes down. Wonder if the douchebags from the VCA will slink over here or to VOA's site, probably under pseudonyms.
tried to post there just now. after all these years of my nasty posts, NOW those dopes decide to approve my posts ?
In times of desperation, Post Counts Matter. , no matter who they come from these days. I used to despise the term "morgue" but the reality is that it's now much worse than that. Which begs the question: What is it called if its worse than a morgue?
