3rd Gen. Viper with Supercharger???????

Ive been looking at both the 2nd and 3rd gen vipers lately. I am having trouble deciding between the 2.

I had a few questions about the gen 3 vipers...
I want to add a super charger for sure weather i get a gen 2 or a gen 3. I didn't know if the Gen. 3 vipers need any serious engine mods to run a super charger or is a pretty much a bolt on and go. I want to get a street legal S/C and i like the paxton S/C. im pretty sure i would need to add another fuel pump and other small mods to run a S/C.

Any helpful advice would be great. im looking for 600-800 rwhp. Also how much in mods am i looking at to get to that point.

Thanks for any advice!

If you want to *safely* hit the 800+ rwhp mark then you'll need a Gen2 car from 96-99 because they have the forged pistons and as an added bonus the 708 cam not found in other years. Gen 2 cars from years 00-02 have cast pistons, limiting them to 720ish power levels at the wheels. There's no Roe s/c for Gen3 cars just Paxtons which if left stock with water/meth you can safely get to the 725 rwhp mark with a pair of headers and high flow exhaust.
Site member "Viper Spray" has his 96 GTS from ART around 850+ rwhp with the Paxton and tune. Another member (Snorman) had his 99 car done by Underground with the Paxton and some head work and his car puts around 930+ to the wheels.

Ive found a 96' gen 2 viper with a paxton S/C it has stock exhaust and headers.
The guy said it has a 8lb pulley and its putting down 600rwhp and 700ish at the flywheel. how much more would headers and a full exhaust bump up the power?

Also do any of the Gen 3 vipers come with forged pistons? or only the 96-99 gen 2 vipers?
how much hp can a gen 3 viper support?

If i go with a gen 3, id like a S/C and probably a full exhaust on it. what kinda numbers am i looking at with that set up?

1) Headers and exhaust, along with a smaller pulley and a tune to go with it could get you closer to the 700 mark at the tire if not more. It depends how stout the engine itself is and what is being used to tune it, probably a VEC 2 or 3 is my guess.

2) read my post above to find out.

3) repeat # 2.

With Gen3 you will change the Pistons.
Fuel Injectors.
ECU (AEM) or SCT callibrator.
Fuel rail.
Pulley Damper.
catch oil tank.
Fuel pump.

with 6.5 psi of boost you will make 770 rwhp **Safely**

Looks great berserk, have you tried going any higher with it like a 10 or 12lb pulley?

No, I haven't.
What I know is a stock engine can not handle more than 6.5 psi of boost or it will show knock in the cells.

This viper for my friend and I'm doing a 76mm twin turbo kit in a stock engine for my Gen 3, but I'm going to use the SCT to calibrate the engine not AEM or any universal ECU.

Do you think this SCT is good enough calibrate it??!!

I will try to run 5 to 6 psi of boost to see which is the safer.

Why would you use an SCT ecu?? Aren't they designed for Mustangs?

Racing Solutions - The leader in Viper performance!

This kit includes a new clutch too.
700 RWHP without removing the valve covers on a gen 3. I like mine.
