R6 Hoosier vs Drag radials

Hi guys, I am trying to decide which one is the best tire for drag racing and street use. Some friends said that with the R6 you can get as much grip as the drag radial and you can use your 19 wheels, any bad experiences with the R6?
Also if you use the R6 after you make a born out to warm them up how much time the tires will keep the grip for future racing? What I mean is a good choice or you guys prefer the drag radials always?

SRT 10 paxton, 815 rwhp 13 psi. Thanks .

I was always told that the R6 & A6 had too firm of a sidewall as they were designed for road racing. You want a softer sidewall for drag racing. I was also told they were like a sand blaster on your body panels.

I agree with the above, they were a great tire and hooked up great. Just don't get caught in rain no matter what! RIP 97 GTS.

Then you're not heating them up or your roads are free of rocks. One set did a number on my black 07 zo6!

I've driven both R6's and drag radials in the 1/4, a drag radial definitley hooks better. I was pinned in 2/3/4 and the DR hooked completely @ around 1,200 RWHP. Same power levels, I was having to pedal the car with R6's.

that being said, the R6's are a great tire for the street, IMHO
