I'm thinking about getting the windows tinted on my car to keep the sun out during the summer. The heat/sun in Florida is brutal this time of year and I'd like to get a tint that will keep the sun out, but I also don't want to take away from the looks of the car.
I just had my '04 tinted (side and rear glass) with the darkest possible tint available. It's often referred to as "Limo" tint. The car looks AWESOME. So happy with the decision to black out the windows.
Does Florida have a tint law now?? About 10 years ago when I was there I saw a black vette with limo tint all around and I do mean all around. Even the front window had limo tint. I'm fairly certain because of the harsh sun conditions in Florida there wasn't an anti-tint law like most states. However, I am not certain about today's laws.
15% is perfectly fine... especially if you want to be safe driving at night. You hardly notice it when inside but from outside it is dark enough that it doesn't look tacky. I hate limo tint cause it makes the car look like a toy with painted windows haha.
Yes, Florida has a tint law. A police officer in Jacksonville recently killed an 80+ year old man while driving 98 in a 45 zone with no lights or siren in hot pursuit of a tint offender. I think the police officer is going to jail for a year to become a butt pirate.
I had my side windows and back glass done in 5% and my whole front windshield done in 35%. The only thing about tinting the whole windshield is it make's it a bitch to drive at night on dark roads without street lights!
