What the F*ck is wrong with some of you????
They are both nice cars.
I owned a 99 rt10 and a 2003 SRT10 and currently own a supercharged wide body nsx...
Lets get somthing straight here. A SRT10 in 2003 was a 83K car and to date their have been a tad over 25K vipers produced world wide..
In contrast a 2003 NSX was a 89K car and to date their have been 20K produced world wide ( with only 10K of them being built for america)..
So a 2003 nsx is more expensive and more rare than a 2003 SRT10
Then theirs resale
a typical 2003 SRT10 is selling for 41-44K
a typical 2003 nsx is selling for 51-56K
Case in point I paid 35K for my 1991 nsx in 2008 and 37K for my 1999 rt10 in 2006 ...If I had bought them both in 2006 The 1991 nsx would have been the same price as the 1999 viper...Not trying to be an asshole as I love the Viper as well..But it is what it is
Then to the performance
A 2002 and up nsx is VERY capable of high 12's..SRT10 Viper territory of high 11's...NO WAY...But with the engine sitting directly over the rear wheels in the nsx a 60 foot of 1.9 can be reached on a new owners first ever 1/4 mile run. The shifts are silky smooth and the power delivery just gets stronger towards redline..
Case in point I watched my buddy turn a 13.1 at 108 mph his very firt time ever drag racing his bone stock 2005 nsx..
The Viper on the other hand is a very hard car to master. Getting anywhere near a 1.9 60 ft takes LOADS of practice as a 2.1 is the norm. Then the power comes on the second your foot touches the pedal but seems to die out in the higher revs. great for throwing you back in the seat but very hard to master at a drag strip on the 1-2 shift..
The point is that the SRT10 driver might turn out a 13.1 as well. I know I did my first time dragging my SRT10...( But I did get that same car down to low 12's...A full second faster than my buddy's stock 2005 nsx so I give that one to the SRT10)
Then theirs the handling...I shit you not that a nsx feels like a go kart. Just going to a mcdonalds drive through is fun. The Viper on the other hand ( weather my rt10 or srt10) was a handful and I never wanted to go anywhere in it other than race nights ect. Let alone a mcdonalds drive through with those long yet beautiful hoods..Advantage nsx with it's short italion like hood...
Then how about interior????My 1991 nsx interior made my 1999 RT10 interior look pretty pathetic. And was very close to my 2003 SRT10's interior. My friends 2005 nsx interior with the stitching in all the leather on the other hand makes a SRT10 interior look down right cheap...
And to the EXTERIOR...Ill post pics of my 1991 nsx next to a red 2003 SRT10 just like the one I had...hands down the nsx looks MUCH better..and nicer than my 99 RT10 as well..Ill still give the nod to the GTS over the nsx but thats the only viper that gets it...
engine bay....My 99 rt10 engine was a joke visually. I was very disapointed. but loved the way the hood opened. my SRT10 engine bay on the other hand was a work of art. but i hated the boring regular way the hood opened.
my nsx on the other hand. Well the engines in the rear under the glass. F430 quality..hell no...Audi R8 quality..HMMM..NO....But still pretty damn kool..Yep..Advantage nsx
Now this could just be because of where I live over in hawaii. But everyone tells me that they like the nsx better. Neibors that never said anything about the Vipers in two years came over and asked about the nsx within the first week...Ive had quite a few people think it was a ferrari or lambo. Never had that with the vipers...
They are both really kool cars and for all the praise I just gave the nsx I still want a another Viper for the raw no excuses power they posess...
Ive clocked both Vipers and my nsx and even with a 5 pound paxton supercharger on my nsx Im still only as fast as my stock 99 450 HP Viper was and a bit slower than my SRT10 was..
BTW..Heres some pics of my nsx. The last pic is of it next to a red SRT10 Viper just like iIused to have before I got it. I have no regrets and it amazes me how you can diss such a beautiful car...They are both bad ass
