jUST ABOUT TO BUY A VIPER, JUST NEED SOME ADVICE..

Hi,

Im currently living in Dubai, UAE (Middle east) and looking for a Viper. to my knowledge there are only 7 Vipers in the whole country so as you can imagine they dont come on the market to buy very often. Im planing on importing my car from the US. Below is the car i will be going for if any, can u please advise me if this is a good price and if its normal for a car almost 2 yrs old to only have 280 miles on the clock.. (the guy says its never even got registered..)

2006 Dodge Viper 2dr Roadster SRT10
ZBDS27 Base Vehicle Price STD $81,895.00
EWC Engine: 8.3L V10 SFI STD N/C
DEC Transmission: 6-Speed Manual STD N/C
21A Quick Order Package 21A OPT N/C
TXM Tires: Fr P275/35ZR18, Rr P345/30ZR19 BSW STD N/C
WPH Wheels: 18 x 10" Front/19 x 13" Rear Aluminum STD N/C
CL Preferred Suede & Leather Bucket Seats STD N/C
GASTAX Gas Guzzler Tax OPT 3,000.00
APA Monotone Paint Application STD N/C
RBQ Radio: AM/FM 6-Disc CD STD N/C
X9 Black OPT N/C
PRN Viper Red Clearcoat/Black Soft Top OPT N/C

Total Vehicle Price (USD) - $82,945.00 new unit, never been titled 280 miles FOT Dubai

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So what do u think? Good price? Likey thats its a genuine low mileage car? How can i chk this? Also, whats the difference (If any) between the 2004 and this car?

This is my 1st post on this forum so i dont know how active it gets but thanks for all your advice and comments in advance.

Mark

The price is too high. An '06 Viper convertible should be selling for about 66 -68k.

Yea wayyy to high...

The 2003-3004 models sold for 78-90K..cas they were the new thing..

Then in 2005 the Ford GT arrived..Then in 2006 the C6Z06 arrived...Then theywere the new things...

The 2005 and 2006 SRT verts typically sold for 70-80 grand...

Now with the 2008's about to hit show room floors..A 2006 convertable SRT10 ( weather ever titled or not) is now a 2 year old vehicle)_ dont pay a dime over 70K...Thats all i can really say

Not sure. But an aluminum radiator and/or a new thermostat should help. Not sure if you are willing to do anything aftermarket though...

Yup, too much money. It's common to find low mileage vipers. They are almost always 2nd or 3rd vehicles that only get driven when we have free time. I would say it should sell for no more than 72k with those miles. It would not be crazy to see it sell for high 60's like Rhino said. Hope this helps. By the way, vipers dont drive in the sand very well.

BTW this price also includes shipping and import taxes and i get the assurance that I’m buying it from a dealer over here.. So if there is something wrong with it, i can deal with it.. Unlike if i buy one blind then import and it arrives with a surprise.. (I've heard so many bad stories and u never know..)
Does anyone know when the 08 viper will hit the shops and how much it will be?

You posted on here a price that includes shipping over seas, taxes and other related charges and expected us to know that for one, and then be familiar with the cost involved?

How the hell would we know the price of shipping a car over there? The price of the car should be about 66-68k and no more. Blebyu had a striped coupe for sale a short time ago for about 68k with very few miles on it. A convertible is much less expensive (stripes also add 3k to the price). The car is worth about 65k at most. Add in the price of shipping, taxes etc and see if it comes out less than what you are paying.

Doesn't. That is how to spell it properly. And no.. that isn't a high school level word. use spell check. It's right next to the preview post. You spell Does wrong everytime.

So your spelling sucks. Spell check is available. Might as well use it.

You biggest concern with this car is if it is still in the original owner's name and has not been registered in his State. If it has not, as he mentioned, it is illegal for an owner to resign over an MSO ( unless he is a Dealer and in some States that can only be done by Franchise Dealers only )in virtually the entire Country. I would imagine it would cause you even more problems and concerns trying to get it over to the United Arab Emirates. As to price, that is a bit high for the market today, but there can be a big difference car to car , based on condition, color, options, etc. Be careful, as there are a glut of used Vipers that have come from Skip Barber Racing or the SRT Driving Experience. They are often portrayed as Chrysler Executive Cars, have low miles, but have been driven very hard.

Good luck and shipping to your country will likely be in the $4000-$6000 range , depending on insurance costs and the carrier.

Sincerely,
Bill Pemberton

I would say that a 180 degree thermostat (maybe even lower) would keep your Viper running pretty happily if you have any issues.

You herd it from Mr. BP himself. Which I'd like to go on record and say Bill and the Woodhouse auto family has absolutely top notch service in all aspects of the term. Which would explain why their business is doing so well. Anyways nice to see you posting Bill, take care.
