If you are looking for the best set of tires and you are out here near me, I can hook you up with a set of PS2's from a friend of mine off of the 51 and Camelback.
I am getting my set on Monday.
I believe it came out to approx. $1,100 for the 2 rear tires, mounted and balanced, out the door with the tax.
PM me if you are interested.

Because the runflats really suck. Lousy traction and heavy sidewall weight don't combine for a good performance tire.

Aren't there any Kuhmos or Pilot Cups or some kind of 60-80 treadwear tire available in the 345/19 size for the rear? Or are the Gen 3s stuck with only 220 rated tires like the PS2s or PZeros?

Are PS2s the Pilot Sport tires by michelen? If so what does the 2 from the PS2s stand for? And if not, then what are they?

I picked up my mounted PS2's today for $1,100 for the rears.
I did some research, and they are not the regular Pilot Sports, but the best tire that Michelin makes for the Viper. I'm not sure what sets them apart from the other Michelin's besides them costing more and a different tread pattern.
I'm guessing they are stickier as well.

The only sticky tire available in 19s that I know of is the Hoosier R6

I've heard rumors of a Kumho tire in 19 that may be available next year, but so far, it's just rumors as far as I know.

I don't know about the Gen 3s, but the gen 2s had specific Pilot Sports made for them, they had a big "C" branded on the sidewall inside an oval.

The PS2s are still a 220 treadwear rating though, the PS Cups are 80, the lower the #, the stickier the tire, the better the traction. Sizes are available for Gen 2s but not Gen 3s from what I can find.

Nitto introduced a 345-30-19 called the Invo. It's about 80 bucks cheaper per tire than the PS2's (for the rear). The problem is, there is no 275-35-18 to go with them for the front.

The PS2's stick real good. Huge improvement over the run flat pilot sports. The PS2 is just a name, they used to have a PS1 awhile back. They handle real well at track too.
I got mine for $1600 shipped from parts rack, that was for four tires. They dont make the car wander like the run flats did on un-even surfaces. They are also the new tire being installed on the 08 Viper. Will be factory installled.

My car is being put back together as we speak, so I won't know how they feel for about another week or two.
Hey there is a VCA meet this Saturday in North Scottsdale, are you going?
We're going bowling. I will be the one in the plaid golf pants pulled up to my chest, with a button down shirt with the pen pocket protector.

According to the SRT Engineers on the VCA club chat last night, the oem Viper PS2 is NOT the same as other PS2 tires.

I have no idea what is different about them.
