Motor Oil and MS-10725

On my unmodified 2008, no track use, which motor oil to use?

Book calls for spec MS-10725. Interestingly, Mobil1 no longer meets this spec, though I understand they used to. Royal Purple doesn't either. Red Line's 0w40 does, which is what I'm leaning towards.

A search yields a lot of interesting discussion about oil for turbo cars and track cars, but I didn't want to resurrect a thread from years ago.

Ideas?

Looks like my options are Red Line and Amsoil. What's everyone else running?

Do you think Mobil changed formula or just did not pay for that certification?
I will still use Mobil 1 0w40.

And, I would guess that you use Mobil 1 FS 0w40 (European Formula) rather than Mobil 1 ESP 0w40. They are two different formulations. I've always used Mobil 1 FS 0w40 (European Formula) on the Gen 2

Since I don’t have a diesel particulate filter on my car, you are correct.

15W-40 Syn blend or 5W-40 Synth diesel oil. Best out there for max wear protection.

Lol.

That's exactly what I'm circling around. But I also wouldn't put it past them to changed the formula to something cheaper, and the new formula wouldn't certify either.

Did you find somewhere that stated Mobil1 no longer meets this spec, or is it that they no longer pay to get their oil certified to that spec? Those are two different conclusions to their not listing the compliance with the Chrysler spec. I could not find anywhere that states what the requirements of MS-10725 are.

I do understand sticking with what the manufacturer specified if you do not have the technical experience which would make you comfortable using an oil that is labeled that it meets or exceeds the spec. I have been there.

Since there are oils that claim to meet the MS-10725 spec, that is your safest route. I see that the tech sheet for the last oil recommended for use in the Viper, Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0W-40, states that it may also be used in SRT engines originally recommending Chrysler MS-10725 oil.
