Trying to help friend sell a custom Viper.

I am selling a very cool 2006 Viper for a friend of mine. I was involed in most of the build. It is race/street car. 800hp very cool nasty car. My problem is finding a good place to post it. It's a $100k car that he'll probaly take $60k for. I have posted it here and am hoping for some good hits but, I was hoping to get the car out there on multiple sites or places. Thanks for any help!

Things like heavy dust and dirt covering the engine and compartment don’t scream 100k. (Or 60 for that matter) They show a lack of maintenance to me. Take care of stuff like that and simple things like the frayed end of the coolant hose protector. It’s all in the details.

I see what you are saying, but I'm not trying to sell it here and now. I'm more interested in info regarding a good platform to sell a car that is built like this. A high 800hp Viper with a 2speed powerglide and no passenger seat aren't your everyday car. I do not think some dust and frayed hose sleeves are my main hurdle at this point.

He’d sell it a lot easier putting a 6sp and a passengers seat back in it. Race car vipers don’t sell unless it’s below 50k.

I’d be interested to know the full build details.

Yea, we've talked about putting some of the car back to stock. It would definitely make it easier to sell. There's so much that has been modified for straight line racing I do not know if changing it would be worth the trouble and money.

What kind of ECU is it running? Is there a Launch Control or Traction Control?

It has no launch or traction control.

We installed and wired an AEM ecu and accompanying harness but. ran into a lot of trouble during tuning. There was an issue with hot restarts. Around that time HP tuners released software to tune the factory ECU so that's what it is running on now. I do not remember the final boost lbs but. it made just about 800whp. The motor should really get some more run time before any more power is made from it. We were shooting for a 1000whp.

A few years ago not many people were boosting Vipers. Other than Hennessy. So tuning information and software was very hard to find. I think that if someone who has their own experience with boosted Vipers or knows of a shop that does. Could take this car farther than 1000whp.

Novi2500 yep that can do 1000rwhp on 93 pump gas...maybe a little water-meth.

Any vids, time slips etc? I’d love to see what the 60’ times are. Some slow 1.2x’s I bet. Lol

If I was looking for a drag viper. I’d be all over this.

It is running on C17 t00!

One of the saddest parts is that the car has never been on a dragstrip... The owner developed some health issues right after the car was done. He kept the car for a while after that but, has decided that he'll probably never race it. So time for a new home.

I have been talking to him about getting together at the strip for at least a good launch video. I'm sure that could help it sell. I don't know if it'll happen though.

I’d be happy to fly in and drive. :-). Ok I’d settle for being track side video guy.

Or maybe wait for some cooler weather and bring it down to Central Florida. OSW is a great track and he can enjoy the theme parks one more time.

There's a couple of things about that tie-in to the rear frame that make me wonder a bit. GLWS.

Yea, it's running pretty low boost. If I remember correctly it's around 10psi. That is another thing about this car, it's not finished. It is just to the point where it can be driven and even run on a dragstrip. The bulk of the build was done about 4years ago and there wasn't a lot of support for ecu options and tuning software. I think someone with current knowledge of Viper boosted engine tuning could pull alot more power. I wish the owner was in better health to take this car all the way himself, but that's just not the case. I'm one of the techs who was involved in building the car and I'm not in any position to buy it.

The owner had plans of mostly running 1/8 mile so he opted for a 2speed powerglide.

I have everything sitting in my garage to finish it. As in an entire Gen3 Paxton viper set up. Built motor, built TR6060, rear end, AEM EMS, Fuel system etc. If the owner is willing to sell as a shell I might be able to afford that.
