Yes, they will. I believe Andy at the VE said they will cross back to the Gen 3/4. Talk to Andy for the whole scoop.

Yes. The shocks and brakes will bolt-on back to Gen3.

Get the sub-frame wire harness and interior and it s possible to make a gen3 into a Gen 5. From Gen3 on the car really hasn't Changed much just updates really.

I couldn't confirm this, but I was told by a Suspension guy at SEMA Dodge changed the suspension geometry on the Gen 5's.

Are you saying it is possible to swap the entire interior from a gen 5 into a gen 3?? I'm having a difficult time understanding what you mean by "wire harness and interior"

Yes. Remember the Viper "under the skin" is still the same basic car from 2003. So any upgrades that have been done in the Gen4-5 cars can be done to a Gen3 with all the OEM parts.

If you have a Gen 3 you could turn it into a Gen5. But I'm not sure it would be worth the work. It would be a cool "restoration" project. ESP if your starting off with a "Totaled" car with a good frame.

One time I dropped a Gen3 TT motor with a Gen4 trans into Gen2. The Gen3 diff bolted right in as well. Lol

Mix and matching parts on Vipers is pretty amazing. On early Gen5's you can still see the "Venom" logo on the Diff. Lol

2013 SRT Viper Specs, Engine, Photos and Full Details with Video ? RoadandTrack.com

In this motor trend article you will read about things carried over from Gen4. Well we all know the only real changes to the Gen4 over Gen3 was: ECU, engine, Trans upgraded Limited slip and hood(basically drive train). There was claimed to be some "frame updates" but nothing i ever really noticed same was said for the fuel tank but I can't tell the difference when i look at them....but the pumps and bucket seems a bit different. Rest was identical to Gen3. Hell Gen 3 coupe tail lights are carry over from a Gen2 GTS. LOL.

If you want a trans, LSD and clutch upgrade for your Gen3. Just pull it from a wrecked Gen5. Want forged internals for your Gen4...no problem get it from a Gen 5.

One cool thing you will notice is Gen3-4&5 all share the same "trunk tub". Carpet is even the same for all of them.

Besides...if it was so different how come prefix can use a Gen3 convertible top to make the Medusa 👍.

Maybe we need to start a thread from us old timers who have torn enough vipers apart over the years to show generational changes. Lots of good info floating around in the collective mind.

Yep. Gen 1 to Gen2 had LOTS of changes. Same with Gen 2 to 3. But Gen 3,4 and 5 are incremental and backwards comparable.

Kinda makes me wonder if there are any Gen1 parts still on the Gen5. ...maybe the Dakota 6 lug hubs...? Lol

Sorry for hijacking, thought this was somewhat related but can start a separate thread if needed.

I noticed the Gen5 has the rear brake caliper configured opposite to the Gen3/4. Looking underneath a Gen5 the toe link is now forward of the knuckle where the Gen3/4 toelink is behind the knuckle. It looks like the Gen5 toe links are beefier and shorter. I think it's the same knuckle just swapped sides on the Gen5 though. I imagine this is for some engineering corrections to improve the suspension in some way.

It maybe, PM MoparBoy and he can look up the part numbers to see about the change.

Did you pick up a Gen5? Did you put in my speaker boxes yet into it or did you put it in the Gen3?

Bobby, I think you have me mixed up with someone else. I bought the Gen2 Splitter. I loaned it out and got it back late and then deployed again so ran out of time to mess with it. Still have the 97 and 03. I'm interested in finding Gen5 parts that will swap over to the Gen3 for improvements.

a gen3 diff cover may bolt into a gen2 frame, but the actual gen3 diff wont bolt in in the front, totally different mounting.

I was just talking to Paul on this, he mentioned the car has a lower floor to gain some head room, and lower the CG, i guess there was a article on it as a improvement.

A.Gen 3 diff cover will NOT bolt to a Gen 1/2. Gen 3/4 bolt holes are different distances than Gen 1/2.
