SRT10 Vert - Coupe Rear Conversion Project ANY REQUESTS?

Hey forum,

Been a member for a few years now; haven't posted to many posts, but always checking in.

I am a proud owner of a 05' silver mamba, and contemplated for the last couple years on converting my rear end to the coupe. At first I didn't want to tear apart a mamba edition vert, but I plan to keep the car for a while and need to update. And can always store the original rear end.

Here's what I got going on (will post pics soon)....

I reached out out to a Viper vendor who was selling the his rear conversion kit online, but with the lack of communication and multiple disconnects. I ended up having to make this happen on my own. I won't go into detail about the vendor, I don't put people on blast, and talking about it just fuels something that's out of my hands. I own a few businesses and one being a collision shop (hate putting the employees on personal projects). We are about 2 weeks in and I purchased all original coupe parts. Major components (bumper, damaged trunk, quarter panels) and all the misc (taillights, reverse, fuel cap, taillight molding, etc.)

Most of the items seem to bolt up and although vert and coupe doors may be slightly different there is nothing that screams misalignment. The biggest undertake is the trunk of course and portion of the quarter panel that needs 'body' added to fill in the gap behind the driver/passenger doors.

Anyways I've got this project almost complete and wanted to reach out to anybody that may be interested in this kit. I would be selling quarter panels and the trunk. (3 pieces) the rest of the items is on the viper owner as it will direct fit to my application. My contact is just 30 min who would do the production. I own a few businesses here and very reputable, and stand by my service and word. It's a sad thing, but I know I'm not the only that has ended up at a dead end on this similar product, so just giving viper owners an opportunity and also giving myself a lead way if I chose to move forward with this. Depending on how many orders I will justify cost and turnaround time at the point. (Mold set up is set for first week of October, and then production can happen the following week).

Thanks Viper Alley.

I have no experience with this at all, but I have seen a couple verts with the hard top conversion and I can't say I'm a fan. I'd sell this and buy a coupe, may have to eat a couple grand, but if you're like me and something isn't 100% right, it'll eat you up inside.

I have owned one that was already converted with the old kit and I purchased the quarters and rear cover to do my own but never got around to it. Did you fill in the piece behind the doors on the quarter panel or the deck lid?

If you decide to do this make a build thread I'd love to see this from start to finish, could look great in the end for all I know.

Although I generally think that 'verts are gay, I thing the coupe ass end makes them look really good.

You're going to love the look. The way the vert should have been in my totally unbiased opinion:

Now that's a vert I'd actually want. The only way it could be better would be a removable hard top, cause a mechanical hard top would cost a fortune.

If I could take the top off my B/W coupe and put it back on, that would be a fucking dream for long cruises.
