I had insulation blown in my attic yesterday and had to clear out the garage. Although I drive both cars, I rarely drive both back to back. Cars are a red 94 RT/10 and a B/W 96 GTS. Here are the + and - of each.
GTS Gen II
Love the additional power (50 HP)
Love the body style and color
Love having windows and power windows at that
Love having air bags
Love having space to use the car for short overnight trips
Love the factory wheels
Much better factory sound system (although neither is great)
Does not drive as smoothly as RT/10 (road surfice vibrations)
Seems like much bigger/heavier car when driving (although it is not)
Brakes not great
RT/10 Gen 1
Absolutely smooth vibrationless driving
Love the top off driving
Car seems much smaller and lighter than GTS (although it is not)
Better A/C than GTS (blows colder)
Hate the funky canvas windows and top
Wish it had air bags
Hate having to store hardtop and hard windows and that hardtop is not easy to put on and take off (requires removal of sport bar)
Not real crazy about design of the factory three piece wheels
Much harder brake pedal feel as well as brakes not great
Not at all waterproof if caught in rain
In retrospect, one of the 50 97 B/W RT/10's with windows and airbags, an aftermarket three piece trunkable hardtop, a big brake kit and a stereo upgrade might allow me to go to one car while retaining the good and eliminating most of the bad attributes of each car. That might even free up garage space for my wife's car too! She would probably like to park her Mercedes in the garage. LOL
Any form of debate without an opposing view is actually just a one sided, back slapping, circle jerk.

Good list. Rarely drive my gen 1, top down is nice, car is so simple, after I drive it I always say I'm going to spend some money on it and make it better. The brakes are scary compared to a gen IV, the clutch is like being on a stairmaster at max
I would love to see that, too bad the both of you are on the opposite sides of the country...................
If we could only get Danica in on this too! Everyone on this site would pay good money to watch that! Chuck and Danica could be the Bobby Riggs and
Billie Jean King for the new millenium. Each has to drive their own car, so Darius gets an immediate 500 HP advantage. Maybe Darius has to back around the track in reverse to even things out a little.
