Anyone own a Shelby Cobra Replica??

I've been looking at some Shelby Cobra replicas. Mostly Factory Five, and Superformance. I was wondering if anyone on here owns one, or has owned one, and if so what did you think? How does it compare to the Viper? Or does it not compare at all? I've heard some good things from some people, but I wanted to know what someone who has a Viper to compare it to thinks. Thanks!!!

Had one before the Viper. It was a S/C'd 347 Factory five car. It put down about 650rwhp and weighed about 2100lbs. It was a cool car, but it drove like a kit car. It didn't really feel stable at speeds. The front windshield would flex undder aceleration or hard bumps...just didn't feel like a finished car. It was professionally built, so build quality wasn't the issue. At the end of the day, I sold it to get the Viper that I always wanted. After TTing my Viper, it feels just as fast and a hell of lot more stable.

Just my experience...others may vary.

There were four of them at Sebring yesterday. All 427s. Beautiful cars. I don't believe they are as fast as a GenII+ Viper, but skill and fun factor isn't always about speed.

I've driven one of the Lone Star Replica 427's. Fast, loud, handled like a brick, but the quality seemed to be pretty good.

Factory Five has truly shocking engineering in some areas from the one I saw - I wouldn't trust one driven in anger at all.

Superperformance have a reputation for quality if you want a good repro replica.

If you want engineering - then this is the best handling Cobra there is:

JBL home page these babies will pull 1.4g and have state of art race chassis and suspension design that have NOTHING in common with the original. They are the one to get if you want to drive fast and race.

If you want to cruise and look good - Superperformance or ERA. ERA will also be ok on track days.
