I TOOK A FEW CARS TO A CAR SHOW (LOTS OF PICS)...

A friend of mine organized a car show this weekend. He asked me if I would bring a few cars. I agreed. Originally I was going to take the two snakes. I was telling a friend of mine (who has a very nice car collection) and he told me to take his two original AC cobras. We decided to call the booth "the snake pit". Well, my SRT was at Jason's shop getting prepared for the next Busa race. It was going to be back to me in time for the show, but I decided on a couple of extra upgrades at the last minute and that pushed us over the deadline. I had a really big gap in my booth, so I decided to bring my two DD's. Then the guy with the T-Busa called to ask me about the show. I told him I had plenty of room at my booth if he wanted to show off his bike. He dropped it off with me.

Here are a bunch of pics I snapped yesterday.

the hood on the maroon cobra is RICE!
The red Cobra, CSX2109, was a custom "Draggonsnake." It won 20 races in 1964 plus the unofficial NHRA finals at Indianapolis. It ran in the Street Stock Production class. Times were 11.6's and trap speeds in the low 120's. It then went road racing for a couple of years. It was bricked up in a room for 19 years and then found in 1988 by Forbes "Toby" Anderson who restored it.

You could buy my GTS 15 times over with it, but I guess it is "rice". Then there is the blue one next to it.

The blue AC Cobra, CSX2558, is one of 16 "cutback" door models. All were competition cars. Eleven were USRRC (US Road Racing Championship) cars and five were FIA cars to be raced in Europe. There were only 5 USRRC cars on Shelby's team. This was one of the five. It was the last of the cutback door models. The Cobra's won the world championship in 1964. They took it from Ferrari. That's what Shelby had his eyes on. The Cobra Daytona had a lot to do with also, especially in the 24 hour races. CSX2558 has a long write up in the Shelby Registry. These cars are vary rare and filled with history.

Most people at the show had no idea what was sitting right in front of them. I was very nervous driving both of them to and from the show.

I was kidding, I am very familiar with Cobras. My dad's friend has an original Cobra.

Glad you guys like the pics. :thumb:

PFR,
They are both friends. The turbo for the VRod was custom made by a guy in Canada. It makes 170hp. The Camero is actually orange. He drives it around occasionally. The interior is incomplete, but everything else looks great. That car will be on EBAY in a week or so. He said he would ask 60k for it. It runs on pump gas and makes 800bhp.

I was at this show as well. It was a lot of nice cars entered. I had my McViper in a friend's booth. It was also a 93' RT/10 in the show which took 3rd place in the sportscar class. A beautiful red Lamborghini Diablo took 1st place in the exotic class. Be sure to read my posting (150mph w/a Hooters girl shotgun) about the ride home!

There is a little hot rod show at Bob's Big Boy every friday night out here. Almost every time I have gone, there is a guy that shows up with one of the competition cars. He must have some pretty serious balls to bring it out and park it in the lot. The car is just stunning though.
