All, just a few quick questions. I'm looking at several Vipers right now and would like to know the pros and cons of an ACR vs. a GTS. I know the ACR has some suspension tweaks and no fog lights as well as the BBS wheels, anything else? Also, do ppl sell the BBS wheels easily? If so, for how much?
Chad, would it be safe to assume that I could get around $2500-3000 for a set of ACR wheels with tires? I am weighing the options right now and trying to figure out if it's worth paying $2,000 more for an ACR (as opposed to a GTS). The ACR has 14k miles (Silver/Black 1999) and the GTS has 12k miles (Black/Black 2000). I can essentially get into the GTS for $2,000 less ($52,000 for the GTS and $54,000 for the ACR) but the ACR has the "good pistons" (which I hear are good to about 1000 rwhp or so) and has Brembo brakes, stereo system, and an aftermarket exhaust......... ORRRRRRR, do I go for the 01' GTS Sapphire/Silver stripe (bone stock with 8,000 miles) for $54,000?????
but the ABS is a crappy 3channel, not a 4. really doesnt offer that great of an advantage, especially when an experienced driver knows how to threshold brake effectively, he can out-stop an ABS equipped car. in the rain or snow...thats a different story...
LOL Ray, yes in fact, his was one of the cars I was looking at, unfortunately he messaged me that it's sold! It was great talking to you via email and trying to work out a deal, i'm glad you got your asking price Ray! :thumb:
So is the general concensus the 01' with the ABS?? I figured if I get the ACR I can sell the BBS wheels for $3k or so and pick up a set of 19's. All just before I put the snake down for it's TT treatment!
I'm partial to the '99 ACR, but the blue/silver is nice too. I'd skip the 2000. Not that it's a bad car by any means, but like others mentioned, it just lacks some of the good stuff that other years have to offer.
I may put my 2001 up due to a change in plans for the future. It has 14K miles and still under the factory warranty. Has a $8000 Stoptech brake kit, a BTR rollbar, 5 pt. harness on both seats, Corsa exhaust with RT high flows, and SRT rims with new tires. Alot of other little things as well, PM me if interested. I may be putting formally in a few weeks.
