GRCFORCE327 is giving you our usual semi-serious, semi-humorous shit. Gotta roll with it with something like "Why take it to a shop? My dad has an ultimate set of tools. I can fix it."

Switch #2 coil pack with any of the others and see if the code moves to that cylinder. If so, buy a new coil pack. If not you still have work to do.

#2 cylinder misfire code.

Hey, thanks. I swapped #2 off the coil pack with #3 re-ran the diagnostics tool and no change. Engine idles the same too, a little rougher than normal. While running I removed the #2 injector plug to see if it would change to engine idle and it didnít just flagged a new code for that while disconnected. Now Iím wondering if I have a fuel injector clogged or some fuel related issue there.

You need to access a noid light or a low ohm test light to check the injector. Don't use a normal test light.

Check the voltage on the injector plug and see if you are getting 12V (my guess it yes). Then you need to check the ground the PCM is doing. use the noid light as 21Bubba said. This will tell you if the input circuity to the injector is OK.

Checking the actual injector involves more advanced equipment.

But if you have a scanner that you can check fuel trim you can do that but you will need to run the engine a little bit longer to see if the trims change.

Check compression on #2. Worst case is it is bad since no change in running condition with the injector plug on or removed. It is assuming the injector is good and working correctly.

Well, Iíve found the problem. I didnít have a noid light in my kit so I decided to pull out the #2 injector and replaced it with the #3 injector. Connected it all back up and ran the scanner on the engine. This time the #3 cylinder is misfiring. I think I need a new injector.

Try having yours cleaned and checked(might be a good idea to check them all), but if it is just a bad injector, you can get a new one for about $35. Easy fix.

I opted for the refurbish for $36. Couldnít find new injectors that were red. They were all black if new, unless you all know a place.

Harrier guy eh? Trying to remember the Harrier guys at MAWTS when I was on the staff...CO of one of the Harrier squadron was my neighbor. Can't recall his callsign....some Star Wars character...big road bike enthusiast. Had a really bad bike riding accident out by YPG. Got busted up pretty good....but this was 1996-1999. Memory is fading...but loved my time at Yuma.

Yep, 18 years in the Harrier. I spent about 7 years in Yuma. Retired out of Cherry Pt as a CO of a squadron. I donít recall who was the MAWTS CO IN 99. I arrived in fleet in 99 in an East Coast squadron. Yuma was a place that grew on you. We loved it after we got used to the blistering summer months

With a new injector installed, will probably pick up an additional 275whp.
