correct Miller tool for 1999 non-ABS Viper?

Hi guys,

I've been doing some research but have not been able to find a 100% confirmed part number anywhere. Some websites that sell Miller Tool 8807 say it's for the 2001 and older Vipers, but 2000-2002 Vipers were ABS right so wouldn't they use a different piston adapter than the older non-ABS ones?

In my service manual for 1998 Viper it says Miller tool 6366 but the only website i found that sells it says it's for 2006-2014 Vipers
https://www.freedomracing.com/brake-...or-6366-u.html

anyone know which one is the right one for a 99 non-ABS?

$159?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Damn, I have a lathe and a mill. If they're getting that price for that tool maybe I should start making the tool myself.

You could make your own with an old socket.

I don't think the piston on the ABS cars is any different than the prior models. The differences are all in the plumbing between the MC and the brake calipers. Most folks use needle-nosed pliers.

I tried needle nose on both Vipers. Each time resulted in mangled hands and pinched fingers. I did notice however, after the pistons had been pushed back the first time they were easier to push back every time afterwards. But I got the tool anyway and it wasn't no $159 when I got it.

thanks guys! I have used needle nose before and it's not really a problem but i'd rather have the tool to make the job that much easier.

Chuck, maybe i'll try to make one... or find a cheaper one haha.

Get a socket. Grind it down. Should work as good as the tool.

Don't buy it. It works like crappy. Go to amazon and search for disc brake tools. I saw one from 8MILELAKE that will work much better. I own a super pricey snap on version but it works the same.
