Reman water pump

It seems that the Cardone reman water pumps are a good choice from my research on here. I cannot find one in my area. Advanced Auto says that Cardone doesn't have them anymore and Pepboys says they are in some dispute with Cardone at the moment. Anywhere else to order one? or any other remans that you guys trust?
Also, is getting one rebuilt by a local builder a good idea? I don't even know if thats an option but I can look into it if there has been good experiences.

In my research, I saw some threads asking for help but never any good writeups or guides on replacing the pump. Anyone know of threads on here that could help?

Yes thanks Eric
I searched the Mopar part# on google and there are many places, including ebay, selling the OEM pump for $180-200. I think that is my safest bet for quick and easy replacement. That upgraded pump that Mike posted is tempting. Maybe I'll send one of my cores off to get rebuilt and upgraded for later.

I'd still like to know what is going on with the Cardone remans tho

A1 CARDONE ARE GARBAGE! WE CARRIED THEM FOR LIKE 2 YEARS AND 6 OUT OF 7 FAILED!

The impeller has a hex in the middle, and is softer plastic, they all break right there then spin on the shaft. we talked to our rep multiple times, and they wouldnt even warranty to us saying it must be installation errors.

OEM or those flow kooler are your best bet.

CARDONE sucks A$$. Poor quality parts used in rebuild. Impellers that come cracked as the shaft is either oversized slightly or more probable is the impeller hole for the shaft is undersize and pressing the shaft in over stresses the impeller. Seals fail early also along with gasket surface that are damage to some extent.

Buy OEM.

One other thing is if water flow is to rapid it wont pickup enough heat off of the surfaces it is supposed to cool. No need for high flow in a Viper.

I could not find a Cardone reman. I went with RockAuto and the link Eric posted. It was $180 for a Mopar OEM pump.
A note, the first one I got from RockAuto is defective. I ordered another and it looks fine. The first had plastic casting "flash" on the impeller that was flaking off and one of the blades was cracked. The second one was actually in a Mopar box and just looks like a better, newer casting than the first. Both have Mopar part#s. I have not returned the first one but I believe RockAuto will refund my payment in full and hopefully pay for return shipping.
I'll be installing the new pump with weekend.

Pickup a MOPAR and learn how to rebuild it. Then teach the rest of us.

I finished the R&R of the pump today. It went smooth. I just replaced the front cover recently so the pump and gasket wasn't melted on.
When I got the old pump off I took these pics of the two together. You can see that they look different. I seriously think the one from RockAuto is a reman. It even has an R stamped on it. However, as you can see from the box pic, it says nothing about a reman. The RockAuto listing does not mention reman. I'm going to contact them and ask if they know for sure if it is a new OEM part.
As you can see from the pics, the new one has a brown impeller. Also the dual return hose fittings are machined a little different. Other than that the new one seems good.
Started up the car and ran it up to temp and no leaks.

I have 2 pumps that could use a rebuild now. I'm tempted to take them to a water pump rebuilder here locally and see what I get back and what they charge. I don't have a press so I wouldn't attempt it myself.

I don't see the pump or anything for a Viper in the Mopar remanufactured parts catalog. https://www.moparrepairconnection.com/catalogs/reman/

I would put my bet on the "R" as being an inspector's stamp.

Rebuilding not too hard, but getting a non composite impeller would be a challenge.
