I’m near OwenSound Ontario. I should check into that. I was hoping there was something that was made to go around opening, but I guess most of the heat is just over the tips

Is your car missing the heat shield piece entirely? there is supposed to be a big shield back there. But unless your mufflers are there it may not be a big deal. My mufflers are in my sills. But the exhaust tips do get very hot as well.

I'd look into heat shield and thin metal to form a piece if yours missing it.

I have mopar exhaust which deletes the rear muffler (I’m guessing built by Borla)
I did a cat delete, so probably not too hot now compared to other cars. But it looks like a dodge dealer did this mopar exhaust about a yr after car was sold and the right tip was too high which left a little burn mark. I thought if there was a nice bumper heat guard that could go on the outside of the bumper over the paint to cover small damage and protect in future that would work. The ones I see at speed shop look too rice for my taste. I thought I seen a couple nice ones on other vipers, that looked like they were made for a viper, but maybe they were just made by owner

Ohhh i see what you mean. I thought you meant the shield underneath. There are a few mounting points underneath. I just had my exhaust off and played with the mounting posts a bit. Mine was off centre. You could get lucky and bend the posts a bit to get the pipes away from the paint. I personally wouldnt put heat shield on the paint. i'd try this first.

Yah I got it straight when I removed cats. Maybe I should just see about touch up paint. Not worth doing whole bumper, and can’t see with car on ground. Just hate that I know it’s there. I think I’ve seen a couple that looked good, but can’t find now. Tacky would be worse then the mark I can’t see I guess.
