HRE rims with Michelin PSS tires

I need some advice!!
I'm thinking of selling my 18" HRE rims within the next year. They do need to refinished. The edges have curb rash but can be repaired. The Michelin PSS will be included. They have about 50% life left. What's a fair price for them and should I get the lips resurfaced to possibly get more money? I called HRE and they told me that my rims are vintage and they no longer make them. I'm assuming they were purchased around the year 2000. The money made will be used towards a new set of wheels.

There are some good sets of ccw classics and some decent BBS wheels that could be had for the 2k range.

Honestly, it's going to be hard to find a wheel of that quality for the price you're selling. I have three piece CCW classics on my Viper and three piece HRE on my girlfriend's beetle. The HRE's quality is MUCH higher than CCW.

Lower your car, get some modern tires on it and your set up will look much better.

I had those same wheels on my 01 Sapphire GTS originally. The owner before me had the center section painted gloss black, looked awesome with the polished lip. I don't like the look of them without having some contrast of color. I can try to dig up a pic if you like.

I know they are really expensive brand new. I contacted HRE and they said they would restore them to new and in any color for $1600 plus shipping. I?m sure I can find a local person to resurface the lip for cheaper, then get them powder coated. I really don?t want to lower my car, it?s already a pain to go in and out of driveways. Something to think about though.

I agree with a contrast look. If I were to keep them I would do a gloss black lip with a satin black face. I really want a 19/20 combo to fill the wheel gap without lowering. Sure I?d like to see some pictures.

I think the design is very similar to the ACR look besides being a 3 piece. I actually live in Santa Clarita, Ca (North Los Angeles County)

I also had someone PM about buying them. When I?m ready to sell I?ll post an ad. I just need to make sure I have enough money saved to purchase a new set before I sell them.

It looks good! I?m not crazy about all chrome wheels anymore. They definitely need some color.

Do any of you know what my wheels would cost brand new? I was told that HRE wheels can cost up to $8000 for a set.

I run 3-piece HRE's. Prices vary. However, IIRC, my rims were over 2k per wheel, new.

I believe they have some rims that are nearing 3k per rim.

Ain't no one paying that much for used 18s tho. Might get $2,000. If the tires are from 2000, they are junk.
