care to put forth some build details? turbos? I believe I see an AEM infinity system.
what's the displacement of the motor and how the hell are you keeping it together at close to 8k?
transmission?
rear end? I'm assuming it's not an IRS anymore

It is stil IRS

It's a little of all the big 3: Viper motor, Ford 9" IRS rear and a GM 3 speed.

When asked whats' done to the motor we generally say 'everything' it's right around 8.4L with a monster custom cam .800+ lift

Garrrett GTX55 series turbos w/tial SS housings, Garrett air/water cores, TiAL V60 gates and Q BOV's

Custom manifolds, oldish hogan intake mani, ID 2000 injectors, dual weldon pumps, ported striker heads.

the strikers and cam and custom manifolds with the heavy boost is the money makers right there. I was curious as I know 8.4 is the typical if there had been a custom block or something for more cubes.

In regards to swapping out the 2.91 for a 2.7 or 2.6 would you up the boost or keep it at 25 to see what the change would net in similar conditions?
I would think the 2.7 would be good for an easy 5-7 mph on top depending on how long you rode the limiter on the 217 pass.
Great work.

I don't think we would need to raise the boost at all to be honest, it has no problem getting to the top of third very quickly!

Thanks!

The engine build with massively flowing GG Striker Heads for higher NA power and for higher RPM with dry sump oiling combined with T-6 turbos is what makes this kind of power to boost ratio possible.

If you have a typical Gen 2 motor making 450 HP, for argument's sake it will make about 900 HP on one extra atmosphere(14.7 PSI) of boost.

An average T-4 setup makes about 1000 HP and 1000TQ revving to about 6000 RPM.

Now take that same 1000 TQ and hold it to 8000 RPM and you make 1523 HP(As opposed to 1000 for a regular G2) = 8000/5252 = 1.523 X 1000 TQ = 1523 HP.

Now take a 750 or 800 HP N/A Viper motor with the right cam and turbo system combination that can hold 1600 TQ to 8000 RPM and you get 2400+ HP.

It is expensive(not Lambo and GTR money but quite a bit more than your typical bolt on build), and takes a lot of engineering, but that's how it's done.......

Vipers also have a supreme advantage in regards to the Lambos and GTR's in the availability of drag racing technology developed for front engine, rear drive cars in the automatic transmission, converter, rear end technology and gearing ratios to be able to make something that will take the power and not break.

It's great to see Vipers being built to this level. There is no doubt a car like this can compete with and beat the fastest Lambos and GTR's. This car went that fast at 2800 FT elevation with a super easy launch hitting the rev limiter before the end. RWD or not the Viper platform is going to be the platform to be reckoned with in the near future. I can't wait to see what they can do with a taller rear end gear in the near future.

Great way to represent the Viper platform!

Go Viper!

From what I can tell, you guys have about 9% TQ converter slippage on the big end?

If you could get a lockup converter for the TH400, you could hit about 238 MPH @ 7800 RPM with the 2.93. I would love to see that!

The engine looks a little different from the last time I saw it in Paolos garage ten years ago.

Wow!!!

Simply the nicest TT setup on a Viper I have seen. That's fabulous work.... and congrats JD and ARD - what a cool project and accomplishment. No doubt there's more to come :-) Stay safe. Would love to see Viper take back the crown from the AWD cars.

That is one sick car, though. Great fabrication work!

That stock trans, very stock looking GenV that hit 200 with all the aero In place is not too far behind you...

Thank you!We are sure trying, but the AWD cars can put the power down a heck of a lot easier, definitely have our work cut out for us

True, pity the half mile tracks weren't prepared like drag strips, then AWD would offer a lot less advantage lol

With a big enough wallet, you could prep a full mile track if you really wanted to. ARD is right about going after the AWD crowd whether it be a Lambo, R8, GTR in that it is easier for them to put power down but the Viper platform has plenty of room left to come from behind and overtake the current records with how much R&D is already behind it.

Looking forward to this car and possibly a G5 platform developed to run with the Lambo/GTR crowd.

On real roads AWD is very hard to beat because traction is a major issue. With the traction of a prepared surface and drag type setup, RWD is better because you can make it stronger....

besides, there's no advantage to AWD if the front wheels are in the air lolz
