I'm in the middle of doing my rear brakes. On my rear caliper, I took off the two bolts that hold the caliper to the spindle. How do I get the caliper off of the rotor? I thought that once I took these bolts off, the caliper should slide right off, but instead it moves up and down but won't slide off the rotor. What step needs to be done next?
Just hold pressure against the piston (Twist) to push it in enough to slide it off the rotor. The rotor will wear and develop a small lip on the edge. That's whats keeping the caliper from sliding off.
