Your thinking the Gen3 03-04 had problems, the other one is the newest gen5.
Pre2003 and 2008-2011 did not have any engine issues off the assembly line.
50K miles for a 2001 is less about 4K per year... thats actually the perfect amount of mileage. I purchased my 2001 with a few more miles and now have almost 100K. I replaced the break fluid when I got it.
at 90K replaced the clutch, master, and slave cylinder for about $400 and it didn't really need it yet... but I was there.
